You know I hadn't considered that
I got iodized at first but then switched to plain because of the shelf life difference
but I suppose there's nothing stopping me from using iodized in my normal rotation while also putting away plain salt for long term

2020-03-09 02:39:50 UTC

Iodized salt with shelf life?

2020-03-09 02:40:14 UTC

The additive reduces it to about 5 years iirc

2020-03-09 02:40:30 UTC

>5 year shelf life

2020-03-09 02:40:35 UTC

You’ll consume it by then

2020-03-09 02:40:42 UTC

Yeah

2020-03-09 02:42:03 UTC

I just tend to not put a lot of salt on my food

2020-03-09 02:42:25 UTC

So I'm thinking that it might be nice to take a supplement to be at peak performance

2020-03-09 02:54:01 UTC

Publix didn't have it either <:just:684645144133500934>

2020-03-09 02:54:26 UTC

Take the supplements bruh.

@itstooslim supplements to prevent goiter, or to treat radiation?

2020-03-09 15:00:57 UTC

@UncleDrMrBaby goiter I guess, also isn't it supposed to improve cognition

2020-03-09 15:08:47 UTC

the easiest way to get iodine (even in SHTF) is iodized salt

2020-03-09 15:15:49 UTC

$.92 for 26oz at walmart. Thats 1.625lbs for a dollar.

2020-03-09 15:16:38 UTC

The recommended daily intake for adults is 150 micrograms, which can be obtained from about one-half to three-quarters of a teaspoon of table salt

2020-03-09 15:17:43 UTC

how do obtain without salt

2020-03-09 15:17:46 UTC

in diet, i mean

2020-03-09 15:20:23 UTC

We should move to <#673085069283557397> I suppose
but this is also my main question because I'm sure that I'm taking in more than enough salt, but not necessarily enough iodine

2020-03-09 17:40:51 UTC

you won’t be iodine deficient if you have iodized salt and eat adequately, have adequte water intake (minus if you live in mountains)
for radiation, taking iodine pills will only protect your thyroid gland, so you’re fucked otherwise.

2020-03-12 13:51:59 UTC

Ive seen that recipe countless of times now

2020-03-12 13:52:08 UTC

Aim for 72% or higher

2020-03-12 14:06:21 UTC

I just keep a spray bottle or isopropyl

2020-03-12 17:12:47 UTC

2020-03-14 02:43:09 UTC
