Anyone know about the actual shelf life of these pouches? Like past the best by date
I'm thinking about not storing the cans anymore since I don't really eat them but I'll be eating these as I get into hiking

@Mr. Verboten thank you

No problem fam

I'm thinking about phasing the fruit juice out of my pantry and replacing it with #10 cans of powdered Gatorade mix like pic related
The drink mix will store longer and more compactly than the juice, and would be nice to have if I ever got sick to restore electrolytes. ||I shouldn't even be drinking fruit juice anyway||
Also the mix is way more cost effective than the pre-bottled stuff
Thoughts?

2020-02-08 23:20:52 UTC

whats the price compared to marketed long storage drink mix?

2020-02-08 23:52:23 UTC

@Vajjsmasher $5.38 for a 3.2 pound can

2020-02-08 23:53:24 UTC

Augason Farms apple drink mix was about $17 for a 5.9 pound can depending on the seller

2020-02-09 00:14:09 UTC

i'd say stock up on gatoraid but supplement with a couple of cans designed for long term storage in case it doesnt work out. though i cant expect it to go bad

2020-02-09 00:22:43 UTC

yeah same

2020-02-09 00:23:16 UTC

@everyone Sorry about the ping(s), but to anyone who downloaded my Excel spreadsheet, there is a HUGE flaw in the math of it that skews the nutritional data for fats (my data literally put my inventory as being 78% fats; that's now down to 22% after the correction). If you downloaded that spreadsheet and want the bugfixed version just ping me

2020-02-09 00:23:39 UTC

Why

2020-02-09 00:23:51 UTC

sorry didn't mean to hit enter yet

2020-02-09 00:23:58 UTC

Ah

2020-02-09 00:25:50 UTC

I can't believe I just noticed that flaw

2020-02-09 00:26:03 UTC

I've been using this spreadsheet for months <:kek:673429914447249428>

2020-02-09 00:26:41 UTC

I just assumed that my stocks of peanut butter ||and SPAM|| were skewing it but I felt something had to be wrong after I noticed the 78% thing

2020-02-09 00:40:10 UTC

Spam is based

2020-02-09 01:07:33 UTC

Yes it is
I get the reduced sodium version, slice it and pan-fry it like bacon with breakfast

2020-02-09 01:07:41 UTC

First attempt at the Kodiak protein pancake. Soft yet crispy on the outside, would recommend <:apuyes:673419223715807259>
