Totally agree with you

2020-02-19 13:48:24 UTC

But man, I think I would have to survive off iguanas and lizards

2020-02-19 13:48:34 UTC

Cause there's no big game animal in PR

2020-02-19 13:48:38 UTC

People eat iguanas often right?

2020-02-19 13:48:47 UTC

I mean it's frowned upon but I know people do it

2020-02-19 13:48:51 UTC

Some areas of the island yea

2020-02-19 13:49:05 UTC

You'll only learn through practice, and you can say "hell yeah I'm country I can kill a possum with a slingshot and eat its liver", but until you prove it, you'll never know.

2020-02-19 13:49:10 UTC

Man wish i had the time off of work to bushcraft for a week

2020-02-19 13:49:39 UTC

Nah, it became normalized cause there was an iguana pandemic and we had to kill a bunch so parts of the island started eating them

2020-02-19 13:49:42 UTC

I was thinking about this last night and how I've done myself a disservice by not forcing myself innawoods

2020-02-19 13:50:03 UTC

Ahh, I had Mexican friends who frowned upon it. So it must be a regional thing

2020-02-19 13:50:21 UTC

@Mr. Verboten you don't need big game animals. The best meal I ate on that 9 day adventure was fish. We found wild asparagus, wild sage, and wild onion. We used that to make fish soup.

2020-02-19 13:50:25 UTC

I forgot we also have caimans in the island

2020-02-19 13:50:27 UTC

from a black crappie.

2020-02-19 13:50:45 UTC

Well shit man

2020-02-19 13:51:15 UTC

I'm really going to see if I can find a "camping" area in which I could go and survive for a bit

2020-02-19 13:51:26 UTC

location scouting is a big part of it

2020-02-19 13:51:28 UTC

Even if its just two days with one night, DO IT

2020-02-19 13:52:07 UTC

I say fuck scouting. As long as its legal, just jump in and try it. Its not a challenge if you purposefully plan to be near a freshwater source or a food source

2020-02-19 13:52:44 UTC

There's a fuck ton of iguana hunting business in Puerto Rico holy shit

2020-02-19 13:53:14 UTC

That's awesome

2020-02-19 13:53:18 UTC

I want to try iguana

2020-02-19 13:53:34 UTC

Come to think of it, I've never had any reptilian meats

2020-02-19 13:53:54 UTC

See that's the thing I like in the metropolitan area I would have to open up a map and see which areas in the island I could go and survive in

2020-02-19 13:53:56 UTC

Gator is pretty big here which makes that kind of weird

2020-02-19 13:54:17 UTC

I'll try to find pictures of our adventure and post them. We made camp inside a cave and scavenged trash from the river for bedding. We built a raft from wood and cordage for fishing.

2020-02-19 13:57:02 UTC

I remember finding a few really good urban stealth camping videos, but looking it all up again it's just autists with vans that they converted into pod shelters

2020-02-19 13:57:14 UTC

LOOK AT THIS SHIT

2020-02-19 13:59:26 UTC

gonna have to go through my kit bags today and work on refining what I've got

2020-02-19 13:59:34 UTC

If anyone comes to PR for hunting you could go to mona island and have a bushcraft experience

2020-02-19 13:59:59 UTC

>4ft iguana

2020-02-19 14:00:06 UTC

holy shit

2020-02-19 14:00:16 UTC

I've never actually seen one

2020-02-19 14:00:47 UTC

Yea man

2020-02-19 14:00:52 UTC

they get fucking huge

2020-02-19 14:01:48 UTC

Some of my buddies were in PR in December, they keep talking about going back sometime

2020-02-19 14:02:26 UTC

I think the biggest they can get at 5.5 ft

2020-02-19 14:02:37 UTC

Nice man

2020-02-19 14:03:15 UTC

The island is nice, the politics are cringe but overall its good
