the large wavelength bands are classified under "high frequency"
Its the length of one full oscilation
1hz is one light year
2hz is half a light year
and so forth
Wifi is 12.5cm
@Reveretneon no, the high frequency is lower wavelength
You're
Right
I was thinking of 160cm
Recommend ant for Beofeng ur5v? Keep seeing Nagoya 771 but there’s a lot of random name 771 fakery on eBay and Amazon
UV-5r no longer fool proof recommendation due to price doubling recently in the aftermath of coronavirus
and that guide is missleading
d
got mine 2 years back, 3 with pgm cable, extended battery packs and PTT with earpiece / mic boom (total airsoft larp but whatever) - still has the stock antenna on.
actually its this one
i have a 771 on mine, it's really long so the transeiver falls over a lot
I sure am hungry
baofengs have always been crap. an upgraded walkie talkie
> >25km connections with pristine quality
>same performance as a 200$ radio
upgraded walkie talkie
+>not frequency cucked like a 500$ apple radio
Not that it matters anymore since you wont be getting a uv-5r anymore anyway
what are you talking about?
For the money its wasn't for serious prep comms, just for when out shooting or dog walking. Mobile can patchy up where i am. Sill might get a cheap CB too.
So whats the best SSTV mode to shitpost with
can You use repeaters to reach globally?
No not really
theres some systems where you can talk to a repeater, signal is relayed through internet to other repeaters @epic But I never saw this as "amateur radio"
Question for y’all
I got 2 baofengs in September after hearing that the FCC was going to “ban them”
I’ve been tinkering around with them and love them ( not licensed yet but will be soon )
And I just noticed on the antenna that came with the radio that it’s a Tidradio NA-771
I was looking around and saw people saying a true NA-771 is by Nagoya
Should I be worried?
