salt is something to stock up on

extremely useful for preservation of food, bartering, and just taste

make sure to buy iodine salt too, as it can help reduce radiation poisoning effects, if you dont have tablets

I was initially stocking iodized but that supposedly cuts the shelf life down to like 5 years
