i think it was interesting to think about realism vs instrumentalism in terms of some scientific theories
and the epistemological limitations of science are good to remember
so you dont fall prey to scientism
Scientism annoys me so much
Seems prominent with a lot of new atheists nowadays
new atheists suck
Pure atheist sucks
Ikr
im an atheist but the whole culture surrounding new atheism is so bad

He's a philosopher of religion
I generally enjoy the way Nietzsche resonates with younger people, @Throttles.
Most of my students are somewhat aware of who he was, albeit through wrong understanding of his ideas, and they are, generally speaking, eager to know a bit more.
I would say in terms of interaction with the class, overall interesting topics and subsequent fun events, his perspectivism is probably among the funniest things I've ever had to talk about.
And, of course, every pseudo-nihilistic, anti-religious teen loves yelling "God is dead".
Duh.
Kant is a nightmare to teach. Nobody cares about him.
So is Locke.
So is Spinoza.
The god is dead stuff is just as toxic as the atheists are evil people
That's completely untrue.
Dude
And make your students act one out
"God is dead" has nothing to do with refuting the existence of any given god in the first place, @Cobra Commander.
Kant is like
Hysterical
We actually did this in uni, Gerry.
I could be a professor
Our professors would gather, combine us into groups, assign a philosophical stance to each of us, and make is debate things.
The most fun I've ever had studying, period.
