Planes boats and other transports
Or manage the building codes of dams Bridges and tunnels
im not an anarchist lib
Please don't conflate me with an ancap, I believe in a central government that has legitimate control of certain systems
Who decides what ought to be put in place, who controls what is accepted as code?
I know
more like, government intervention is necessary but should be kept to a minimum
like in instances where someone's rights are being infringed upon
What I stated was ancaps can get talked to about roads, but for yours it's more.about overall standardization
ahhh
my mistake
I don't quite understand the argument here, there are still standards for quality, the standardization comes from genuine competition kept honest by regulation
As a libertarian you likely don't want publically funded firefighters as that is a market to be met and even if you do, the houses each individual built can be so unique from the other that fire hydrants may not be available within reasonable distance
Consumer protection is very important for actual competition to drive innovation and improvement
oh, no i do <:dogekek:618610136830967849>
@Soup Can Sam depends on what type of competitiveness you want
but im from a quite left wing country so im considered to be more libertarian here than other places
No, I understand the necessity of publicly funded institutions that markets can't improve or support
I personally like new technologies and not consumer goods that make things slightly easier
New tech doesn't always have a market
^
Especially in tech
I see it as reasonable to think markets don't always guide you one the right path
No it's not always
The problem is that tech doesnt have enough competition, huge companies have huge oligopolies on tech systems
How do you dismantle a monopoly as a libertarian then
but with cases like valeant/philidor government intervention is definitely necessary
Which is why you need a central government to come in with a hammer and break these cooperative systems up
yes
Its a unification of ideas
limited but necessary
I'm not an absolutist
Ok you're not the libertarian I'd thought of
I chose libertarian as a tag because it best represents my social viewpoints
same lol
But because labels are bad, I always have to clarify that I'm not a total economic libertarian
Ok that's cool
Idk what I am
Do you have something you're closest to?
What would you call yourself if you had to
