I'd be surprised if the UK remains united for much longer. Scottish independence is still a thing as is Welsh independence (although not as largely)

Even if Northern Ireland did join Ireland I guarantee you there'd be a revolt within a year. If NI joined Ireland they'd have to start paying taxes, something they don't do now, and quite exorbitant ones at that. They'd lose their quality of life and revolt to gain it back.

I mean to suggest a NI revolt against unifying Ireland is just unfeasible, at least in my mind. The "armed revolt" which has been more akin to terrorism by the modern IRA has defiantly lessened the idea of armed revolt in the minds of the populace
