And *then* you have the insane R0 value/virulence rate (flu's is 1.3, Covid-19's is up to 6.7), durability outside the body (can live for up to 9 days), it's long incubation length (up to 27 days) and it's amount of asymptomatic carriers, as well as it's fairly high death rate (confirmed recoveries/confirmed deaths) of 8% (the 2-3% death rate is based on a faulty formula, total cases ever/deaths), that paints an extremely dire picture. Especially when you learn that covid-19 is bizzarely complex for a coronavirus, despite something like the flu viruses being around and mutating for hundreds of years and still being nowhere near that level of complexity.

Just as they've done so now, left leaning outlets for instance covered the pandemic minimally and largely dismissed it until about maybe 2 weeks ago when they literally couldn't ignore it anymore, which they and the DNC then used as political ammo against Trump.

The beginning of Italy's outbreak and the increased severity of Iran's and South Korea's infection rates roughly marked the start of this turn, as well as a short time before china really started restricting information on their own cases

South Korea is disturbing because I view them as being very modernized with good healthcare

i really don't know much about SK though, I could be wrong

They're doing a hell of a job on monitoring the virus' spread and they have a good disease control on general from what I know, and they're struggling.
