Trump is being accused of crimes bordering on treason in addition to meddling in the electoral process and campaign finance violations. Furthermore, he’s nowhere near as popular as Clinton amongst the majority of Americans due to the government shutdown

The severity of the crimes as well as their public images are vastly different in these scenarios
