We really need to reopen the economy. Maintain social distancing and precautions, as well as masks, but we're going down a dangerous road here. Especially if there is a conflict with China brewing, we cannot just remain stagnant.

money printer go bbrrrrr

2020-04-23 18:22:00 UTC

@Cobra Commander Did you know that the coronavirus has been circulating since December? Did you also know that there are a lot of people who already have antibodies for it and they didnā€™t notice a thing? Not only are we going down a dangerous road, but we are going down a dangerous very unnecessary road.

2020-04-23 18:25:22 UTC

@Cobra Commander Did you also know that nearly all of the people hospitalized because of ā€œcoronavirusā€ had other underlying conditions?

2020-04-23 18:26:34 UTC

Like I mentioned in the Trump channel, the study you're referring to is very shotty. There is no way for us to know how many are truly infected and dead, especially considering how stats are being covered up in countries like China and Iran

2020-04-23 18:27:32 UTC

Your own source says "almost all *NYC* cases have underlying health conditions", which does not mean that most of them didn't die from coronavirus.

2020-04-23 18:28:05 UTC

Ok, Iā€™m with you on that.

2020-04-23 18:28:32 UTC

All that means is that cases with underlying health issues and diseases are more at risk of death.

2020-04-23 18:29:47 UTC

Also the coronavirus's first known cases came around in China in early December, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a few undiagnosed cases in the U.S. as early as mid to late December.

2020-04-23 18:30:28 UTC

Since the CCP did fuck all to contain the spread of the virus apart from destroying evidence of it and downplaying it until mid January.

2020-04-23 18:30:34 UTC

Yeah, I get it, but studies seem to be showing the coronavirus isnā€™t as big of a deal as what we are making it out to be. Also, states like Michigan are taking it too far.

2020-04-23 18:31:11 UTC

It is a big deal though, this is a virus much deadlier and much more infectious than the flu that's entirely new, with no immunity to it.

2020-04-23 18:31:20 UTC

That being said, yes Michigan is going too far.

2020-04-23 18:32:22 UTC

It's also absolutely true that the economy needs to be reopened despite the virus, precautions need to be enforced in workplaces though. This can help counteract or at least lessen the new cases that would spring up from this.

2020-04-23 18:33:10 UTC

I wouldnā€™t necessarily say itā€™s ā€œ**much** deadlier and **much** more infectious then the flu.ā€

2020-04-23 18:34:42 UTC

Except that it is. It's R0 value has been put at being as high as almost 7 and the amount of severe cases and deaths relative to the case totals are much more than that of even bad flu seasons, even if the numbers relative to entire populations still turn out to be relatively small.

2020-04-23 18:37:33 UTC

Well, you have to factor in what condition the people who died from coronavirus had. Also, the research is very spotty and the statistics are spotty too. Iā€™ve been playing with some of the COVID-19 stats and they are very messy.

2020-04-23 18:38:34 UTC

Sorry, I added one word that will make that post make a lot more sense
