I got a UTI once on deployment since our ship's laundry services went down and I couldn't wash any of my underwear

It literally went down the day before I was planning on doing laundry(I had at least 12 pairs of underwear/24pairs of socks that were dirty the day before of the outage)

@So Crates Johnson The problem is you aren't allowed to hang up your gear in the ship berthing area if you aren't sleeping, or it will get thrown away.(no hanging underwear just coveralls) So I sink washed a few underwear initially and put it away and it quickly molded in my locker. I then just sink washed one before each shift and it was still bad since I only had 1 set of coveralls and unless I washed them washing the underwear didn't help since swamp ass happened regardless and sweated to both the underwear and coveralls.

The coveralls are pretty thick and when I washed them they were damp for my entire shift since the moment they start drying you sweat in them and the cycle repeats. There was no winning. Our shifts were working 6hrs, off 6hrs, working 6hrs, and off 6 hrs. There was no dry time.

Our work space was also 50 degrees and the moment you walked out of the space it was in the 100s

So the cold was a bit shit too

So I think my coveralls were eventually a breeding ground of a lot of shit in that 2 weeks thus the UTI
