The "auto expand embedded" is nice! I think it would look a little better if it hides the smaller image next to the title and expand the title where the smaller image was
We need to build a video hosting site equivalent to .win
Any way to change your username on win? Had a typo I didn't catch til now.
Bit.chute is a good video hosting site
@DarkRiver has a few bad nuts
but I'm sure if we started posting there in mass
those nuts would be drowned out
A few thoughts.
1) Image uploads from the site that automatically uploads onto magaimg (apparently magaimg is dead, so whatever the new ones are) and posts to .win. Can also do something similar for videos if there's a host that'd be willing.
2) Site's moving really slow right now, needs more power - I click a link and it takes a while to load
3) This would be different than Reddit, but a way to find the most active comment threads that people can just continue discussions long after the post has been knocked off the first page. Kind of a way to integrate a more classic forum feel with the Reddit upvote style threads.
Suggestion: Password resets seem to require a user to know their old password. Often, if they knew their old password, they wouldn't need a reset. The alternative is an email and/or verification route for accounts with an email. Does not apply to accounts with no email.
Another suggestion: parse imgur.com/######### links into i.imgur.com/#########.jpg direct links upon submission
Was thinking the same, but unfortunately it's not a one for one change
example: https://imgur.com/a/gjWCYPe becomes https://i.imgur.com/q7CWPLv.jpg
you're linking an album
https://imgur.com/q7CWPLv is the "post"
it wouldn't be terribly difficult to write something that pulled the first image from an album and link to it, but it would take processing resources
Based on the post link, it'd have a problem with extension. It could be jpg, gif, png. So unless it pulls it from the actual page, it'd have to test common extensions to figure out which gives a 200 response and then use that.
unless there are better ways, idk
fortunately imgur doesn't really care what the image extension is. Using your example, a jpg
interesting
So, you could get away with just adding the i. and .png in most cases and it would work and that wouldn't be anything server side you can have that working with like javascript in the users browser before it submits to the server. A "more correct" method of having the server ask imgur what image is first in that album and then link to that image directly would be technically better but would be a huge resource hog that clearly isn't needed right now
Has there been any discussion or planning to expand TD.win into a Reddit alternative? It already looks and works better than Reddit did. How difficult would it be for additional doms to be hosted on the same site?
notifications icon gets kinda washed out when there's new stuff. orange on red could use some borders or something
I know people have discussed it, but is it really necessary? I can understand different sections to break out discussions for certain types of issues, but IMO thedonald.win should be completely related to the MAGA movement
Online user and total user counter please
Would be cool if we could get a .win community that focuses on informative news that isn't mostly just memes and shitposts
And maybe a .win community that is just for posting and organizing brigades of Reddit threads, similar to /r/shitpoliticssays
Maybe one that is similar to /r/askTrumpsupporters as well
And the headline correction one that fixes misleading fake news headlines
An effort should be made to get TomFitton on .win as well
a filter by tag option would work for people who want to see just news, or just memes etc.
No to asktrumpsupporters - that sub is full of cucks. I've asked about a AskThe_Donald section, we're still alive on reddit but we'd like to push more normies to thedonald.win for redpilling
Have an additional .com to redirect to site. Most people probably wouldn't know thedonald.win is a website.
cheers
reddit, as shitty as it is, has a nice functionality i miss on td.win.
i'm missing these 2 checkmarks in the options
don't show me submissions after I've upvoted them (except my own)
don't show me submissions after I've downvoted them (except my own)
it would make the site (at least for me) a LOT better to engage with
it's how i was able to go through roughly 500-1000 posts per day at t_d
anyways, i hope y'all gon have time to look over this and hopefully implement it 🙂
cheers
