2020-02-27 06:18:08 UTC

How do you deal with Idealism and the unfortunate reality that often disappoints that idealism?

2020-02-27 09:29:24 UTC

Am i the only one scared that a $15 an hour minimum wage will destroy small businesses

2020-02-27 09:29:59 UTC

Yeah sure it will eventually balance out but for the first couple years small businesses wont be able to pay that much

2020-02-27 09:30:26 UTC

It will also make cost of goods more expensive

2020-02-27 09:30:33 UTC

Yeah

2020-02-27 09:30:38 UTC

It’s literally a joke

2020-02-27 09:31:00 UTC

Liberals dont think about this stuff, they just want instant satisfaction

2020-02-27 09:31:03 UTC

$15 is literally the median wage in Mississippi

2020-02-27 09:31:15 UTC

They just pander to their audience

2020-02-27 09:31:39 UTC

As much as i want him to i doubt trump will win the election again

2020-02-27 09:32:05 UTC

Rip any small businesses

2020-02-27 09:32:28 UTC

Trump wins

2020-02-27 09:32:38 UTC

Last time an Incumbent lost was 1992

2020-02-27 09:32:46 UTC

And the economy was bad then

2020-02-27 09:34:15 UTC

He better

2020-02-27 09:55:37 UTC

the dow has tanked the last week if that trend were to continue to november yeah I think trump would lose

2020-02-27 09:55:54 UTC

otherwise likely reelection

2020-02-27 09:57:44 UTC

Is my fear of small busniesses being destroyed if the wage is raised rational?

2020-02-27 09:59:21 UTC

minimum wage is a complex issue but yeah it's rational to be concerned

2020-02-27 09:59:57 UTC

in 92 there was the Ross Perot question

2020-02-27 10:00:01 UTC

even the economists don't fully understand implications

2020-02-27 10:00:10 UTC

but you can look at how it played out in seattle

2020-02-27 10:15:11 UTC

@papagiorgio sup dog

2020-02-27 10:16:10 UTC

Minimum wage would be better enforced in higher income states and or to rich corporations

2020-02-27 10:18:55 UTC

Minimum wage is determinant to young people, and encourages illegal immigration

2020-02-27 10:20:14 UTC

what's every liberal's justification for illegals , they do jobs Americans won't. What they mean is they do jobs Americans can't because they've been priced out by minimum wages

2020-02-27 10:21:30 UTC

jobs teens used to do, are done by illegals, because you have to pay American teens too much

2020-02-27 10:24:06 UTC

it prices out Americans who need to get a foothold in the job market, and exploits 3rd world illegals--that's how you should always frame it, in reference to workers, not business. That's how you convince the people

2020-02-27 13:44:37 UTC

Minimum wage is, even if you totally ignore any effect on small businesses, consumer goods, etc, a morally questionable idea. If there is no minimum wage, more people are employed. If there is a minimum wage, companies will optimize or slim employment so that fewer are hired. In other words, whats better, many employed at a low wage, or some employed at a high wage while some are now shit out of luck? Ironically for the lefties who promote this, it would stratify the *lower* classes into doing ok and homeless. (Then again, they dont care, their goal is to increase government dependency and poverty so they can implement socialism.) Its not that attractive an outcome even if it was otherwise a positive thing. Which it isnt, it does have negative economic effects.

2020-02-27 13:48:23 UTC

Oh yeah, plus theyd rather fill every min wage job with underpaid illegals anyway. Shafting US and its workers completely cause the wages are not even spent domestically, but sent away as untaxed remmitances.

2020-02-27 16:15:27 UTC

I agree, I say get rid of minimum wage and let the market decide who’s worth what.

2020-02-27 16:15:48 UTC

are there even any jobs still at minimum wage anymore?

2020-02-27 16:16:09 UTC

of course there are
