he was discussing how germany wants to be tough on russia, but they rely on 70% of there energy from russia

2020-03-15 23:46:30 UTC

To maximize these advantages

2020-03-15 23:46:43 UTC

Tariffs are only really important when industrializing, otherwise it's just a tax on your own consumers

2020-03-15 23:46:57 UTC

and yeah, there's an issue with fossil fuel reliance

2020-03-15 23:47:04 UTC

We need to transition to nuclear ASAP

2020-03-15 23:47:46 UTC

but yeah a big problem with this is 80% of US medication iirc relies on china

2020-03-15 23:50:00 UTC

But free markets 'n' all

2020-03-15 23:50:07 UTC

The vulnerabilities are generally worth the advantage

I know it's still far off but a lot of people are making accusations that he tried to monopolize the vaccine in development and I’m trying to find some more info because it doesn't sound right

2020-03-16 01:48:37 UTC

Who trump ?

2020-03-16 01:51:06 UTC

yes

2020-03-16 01:51:45 UTC

there were a couple articles on Reddit about how he allegedly approached a German lab who is developing the vaccine and tried to purchase it and prevent them from selling it to other countries

2020-03-16 01:51:54 UTC

to monopolize it

2020-03-16 01:52:32 UTC

it doesn't sound right to me but I can't find any other info and a couple people have brought it up to me with a smug expression and I’ve had nothing to say in return because I don't know anything about it

2020-03-16 01:52:48 UTC

was hoping some people here may have more info

2020-03-16 01:53:19 UTC

I feel like they misrepresented the "exclusive licensing to America bit" in that the idea was probably him assuring the German companies that they wouldn't try to cut into their European distribution plans but idk tbh that's my personal interpretation of the vague wording behind it

2020-03-16 01:54:29 UTC

that makes more sense

2020-03-16 01:55:04 UTC

thank you for your input, honestly I know nothing about this sort of stuff and don't know where to start,so this at least gives me something to think about
