grandmas can shoot guns, a healthy 17 y/o shouldn't have an issue

2020-01-21 01:20:01 UTC

that's good

2020-01-21 01:20:03 UTC

Depends where you live tbh, some countries and some places in the US try to make an environment of fear around guns, and gun ranges can offer an environment where people can go to learn

2020-01-21 01:20:57 UTC

I feel like I lucked out as I grew up with guns and have lived with guns from as early as i can remember, even have a .357 sitting on my desk right now

2020-01-21 01:22:11 UTC

Since last year I'm able to get a 9mm, it was a nice improvement from .380

2020-01-21 01:22:41 UTC

My dad owns an .9 mm

2020-01-21 01:22:49 UTC

I think that's the name

2020-01-21 01:22:57 UTC

He won't me touch it

2020-01-21 01:23:09 UTC

A quality upgrade, and a good CCW firearms for sure, but I like my revolvers

call me a boomer but I did it

2020-01-21 01:23:11 UTC

Because he's scared (for some reason)

2020-01-21 01:23:11 UTC

When I first received my CCW in Florida, I carried for around 3 months a LR .22, a ladies gun as my girlfriend put it

Upgraded it to a snub nose .357 and Ive found .357 is a good balance between power, kick, and stopping power

2020-01-21 01:26:00 UTC

have a .44 on my desk as well, but never been a fan of how hard it hits

2020-01-21 01:26:59 UTC

I also like revolvers but they're kinda unpractical in a real life situation

2020-01-21 01:27:31 UTC

You're limited to 8 rounds at the most, when you can get a gun with same or better firepower with 15 rounds

2020-01-21 01:28:23 UTC

My beauts, as its dark and I dont feel like turning on a light so here is an old pic

Good enough for home defense, useful enough to leave in the open

Moved out of Florida a while back so need a new permit to carry, but if I carry again I will probably go back to my Colt 1911

2020-01-21 01:30:13 UTC

I love the Colt, that weight feels great, the slide protector I had put on is great for rapid fire

2020-01-21 01:31:26 UTC

I mostly choose my guns by manufacturer, caliber and capacity, considering I'm yet to apply for a CCW the size it's still not that relevant rn

2020-01-21 01:32:09 UTC

tbh given most interactions with people who have ill intent the capacity doesnt mean much if you land a couple shots

2020-01-21 01:33:05 UTC

You know this is going to sound maybe a bit bitchy, but when I got my CCW in Florida I really hated the course

2020-01-21 01:33:25 UTC

You will be arrested, you must surrender, you must accept being detained, you are the criminal

that kind of mindset

2020-01-21 01:33:36 UTC

It's not about landing shots, it's about number of threats and margin or error

2020-01-21 01:34:05 UTC

Yeah thats a valid point, the general amount of people is 1, but Ive seen plenty of home invasion videos where more than 3 come in

2020-01-21 01:34:16 UTC

Im a big fan of my repeater rifle

2020-01-21 01:34:19 UTC

.45

2020-01-21 01:34:26 UTC

Classy rifle

2020-01-21 01:34:52 UTC

I take some 12 rounds as my minimum

2020-01-21 01:35:14 UTC

So, 3 people, 4 shots for each, can miss 2

2020-01-21 01:35:22 UTC

mmm

What is your weapon or rifle of choice?

2020-01-21 01:35:43 UTC

Depending on your aim you won't hit 3 people twice with only 6 bullets

2020-01-21 01:36:17 UTC

I'm particularly fan of polymer striker fired pistols, they're overall reliable and easy to handle

2020-01-21 01:37:24 UTC

Can't own rifles so idk except that I'll probably want a 5.56 AR-15 platform

2020-01-21 01:38:50 UTC

For home defense I believe the best option for a full sized firearm is a .45, preferably with a flashlight or laser pointer, considering you can keep it by your bedside, so holstering it won't be a factor

2020-01-21 01:39:59 UTC

The less you need to care about reloading in a stressful situation, the better

2020-01-21 01:40:27 UTC

Understandable, my bedside is my .357 S&W, no flashlight, no laser

2020-01-21 01:40:53 UTC

I figure where I live now if anymore than 3 people break in Im dead

2020-01-21 01:41:36 UTC

Well I'm not giving them that chance lol

2020-01-21 01:41:59 UTC

I have some guns in the other room stored away, I need to clean them though and check them before I decide to unpack since moving
