Good enough for home defense, useful enough to leave in the open
Moved out of Florida a while back so need a new permit to carry, but if I carry again I will probably go back to my Colt 1911
I love the Colt, that weight feels great, the slide protector I had put on is great for rapid fire
I mostly choose my guns by manufacturer, caliber and capacity, considering I'm yet to apply for a CCW the size it's still not that relevant rn
tbh given most interactions with people who have ill intent the capacity doesnt mean much if you land a couple shots
You know this is going to sound maybe a bit bitchy, but when I got my CCW in Florida I really hated the course
You will be arrested, you must surrender, you must accept being detained, you are the criminal
that kind of mindset
It's not about landing shots, it's about number of threats and margin or error
Yeah thats a valid point, the general amount of people is 1, but Ive seen plenty of home invasion videos where more than 3 come in
Im a big fan of my repeater rifle
.45
Classy rifle
I take some 12 rounds as my minimum
So, 3 people, 4 shots for each, can miss 2
mmm
What is your weapon or rifle of choice?
Depending on your aim you won't hit 3 people twice with only 6 bullets
I'm particularly fan of polymer striker fired pistols, they're overall reliable and easy to handle
Can't own rifles so idk except that I'll probably want a 5.56 AR-15 platform
For home defense I believe the best option for a full sized firearm is a .45, preferably with a flashlight or laser pointer, considering you can keep it by your bedside, so holstering it won't be a factor
The less you need to care about reloading in a stressful situation, the better

Understandable, my bedside is my .357 S&W, no flashlight, no laser

Well I'm not giving them that chance lol
I have some guns in the other room stored away, I need to clean them though and check them before I decide to unpack since moving
I am saddened as I sold many of my valuable firearms and due to some government regulations I was forced to sell off my bump stocks
Forced to? I just lost mine in a boating accident
<a:communism:586632237638877204>
lol
I sold my bump stocks for 3x what I paid
it was before the ban was put through so technically legal
not my problem with whatever was done with them
government caused that problem

Fair enough, it's not like you had to sell your whole gun
True, as for my few automatic weapons I sold them as I needed some cash for moving
Sold my Thompson 1928A1, sold my AK47, sold my Mosin, and sold my M1 Garand
Eventually I will buy them again, but moving across the country isnt cheap
Damn, a mosin nagant is pretty high in my collection list
Got any pictures?
