I'll keep my freedom to make my own choices, and do business with who I want, thanks.

2020-03-11 20:18:01 UTC

and I don't want "daddy government" stepping in between who I want to give my MONEY to

2020-03-11 20:18:05 UTC

Not everyone has that freedom

2020-03-11 20:18:07 UTC

Oh okay

2020-03-11 20:18:24 UTC

Yes. EVERYONE has that freedom. If you have two arms and two legs, you have that freedom.

2020-03-11 20:18:39 UTC

@LC how do you feel about reddits treatment of t_d?

2020-03-11 20:18:57 UTC

irrelevant to the conversation

Answer the question

2020-03-11 20:19:06 UTC

Unless you live in communism, then if you don’t work you get a bullet to the back of the head

2020-03-11 20:19:24 UTC

Communism is having no government

2020-03-11 20:19:40 UTC

You're thinking of USSR authoritarian state socialism

2020-03-11 20:19:41 UTC

what

2020-03-11 20:19:42 UTC

lmaooooooooooooo and who enforces not having a government

2020-03-11 20:19:52 UTC

Friedrick Hayek made the case very simply:

Socialism and freedom are NOT compatible.
There is absolutely no difference between the taking away of economic liberty and the taking away of political liberty.
If the government controls the means of production - your ability to live, earn, and feed yourself, they have control over you, and thus will control the political climate. Whoever you vote at that point won't matter.

If you are essentially a tyranny because you have direct control over the people, you can't be voted out.

As they said in the Soviet Union, "We pretended to work, and they pretended to pay us"

2020-03-11 20:19:54 UTC

Lol ok

2020-03-11 20:20:10 UTC

Define socialism @LC

2020-03-11 20:20:28 UTC

Government control over the means of production

2020-03-11 20:20:39 UTC

Nope

2020-03-11 20:20:48 UTC

tfw your family lived in the DDR

2020-03-11 20:21:07 UTC

That's one kind of socialism, but not all kinds of socialism

2020-03-11 20:21:46 UTC

Wrong

2020-03-11 20:22:14 UTC

I know you tards like to call it "social ownership," but "social" is government.

2020-03-11 20:22:34 UTC

It requires no more government than any other law

2020-03-11 20:22:47 UTC

Democratic Socialism is communism. Change my mind

2020-03-11 20:22:49 UTC

social ownership doesnt mean you get to own or have a say in how anything works. its just verbal sleight of hand.

2020-03-11 20:22:51 UTC

FALSE

2020-03-11 20:23:00 UTC

Man it’s strange watching this debate. Been a long time since I’ve actually been privy to a leftist debating in real time

2020-03-11 20:23:11 UTC

Stop pretending you with your elementary level definition of socialism know more about what constitutes my own ideology than I do

2020-03-11 20:23:22 UTC

anyone watching the live stream of Trump meeting the bankers?

2020-03-11 20:23:26 UTC

e l e m e n t a r eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

2020-03-11 20:23:35 UTC

Socialism ABSOLUTELY requires dramatic expansion of government power, and subsequently a reduction in YOUR civil rights, SPECIFICALLY the ownership of private property.

2020-03-11 20:23:41 UTC

You can argue that socialism always results is government control, but socialism itself is not necessarily government control

2020-03-11 20:23:55 UTC

I blame all eu issues cos of Germany <:TrumpDisgust:624681485525319681> @Ostland

2020-03-11 20:24:01 UTC

yes it is necessarily government action, control, force, implementation

2020-03-11 20:24:10 UTC

@dairypillows is there a government in democratic socialism?

2020-03-11 20:24:11 UTC

Every SINGLE time socialism has been tried (over 100 times) it has resulted in a tyranny and failed.

2020-03-11 20:24:34 UTC

Tbf ur ideology is based on the elementary understanding of a fake idea of “socialism” being propagated by people with a giant platform like Bernie Sanders and AOC

2020-03-11 20:24:41 UTC

@LC Germany, the UK, Sweden, etc. All fit the actual definition of socialism

2020-03-11 20:24:56 UTC

Those are capitalist countries, you massive walnut
