Not at all @Dan🦀. "Ever-increasing amounts" is pretty indicative of what consumerism entails.
@christiam its a wiki definition
Copy and pasted
The definition is correct, your analysis of it is wrong.
How is not supply and demand.
@christiam >A very large portion Christian values stem from Judean values
You're arguing that the mere act of owning large sums of money is immoral and frankly to me that sounds like a progressive viewpoint much more than a conservative viewpoint; it's what the communists/socialists base a large portion of their moral model upon.
It's not about owning large sums of money, it's about needlessly spending all of your available income on useless products.
Well what can be done about that lol. Take away buisness?\
No, but you could promote Christian morality.
didnt adam smith talk about consumer education at some point? 🤔
You're arguing from a point of opinion on something that cant be controlled by anyone.
ChrisTiam is a communist, here to spread anti-materialist theory.
Stop hindering discussion @D3plor4ble
He's as entitled to a view point as we are
You have no clue what you're talking about. @D3plor4ble
Christiam reported to mods for spreading communist theory
i sincerely have a hard time believing anyone is truly a communist in 2020.
@christiam why should someone be barred from needlessly wasting money? It's theirs to own, it's not the government's, nor is it the people's
You're the same type of person to call Hitler or Mussolini a communist. Historically unfounded. @D3plor4ble
They only identify as such because they ignore nearly a century of history
"no true collectivist"
Uhhh no hes not lol
I'm not defending nazis either, I'm just stating how retarded you sound. @D3plor4ble
dont reeeee out from a lofty philosophy discussion guys. jesus
Hitler was a collectivist. He was a communist. There is no essential difference between communism and socialism
@D3plor4ble National **sozialistische** Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
> There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.
what you deem useless spending, i might consider valuable and important spending
@Dan🦀 their counterargument is that just cause it's in the name doesn't mean it's truly socialist; i.e. North Korea calling themselves democratic
who's to be the arbiter of spending?
me^
ChrisTiam wants the government to decide how much money everyone "deserves" and what they can spend it on. Otherwise men would be left to their own devices, and spend it on "selfish" materialistic things. According to the theory of asceticism, money and the entire material world are evil illusions.
It's the most anti-American, anti-profit-motive, anti-capitalist philosophy there is.
No you retard. Collectivism doesn't just entail economic systems. Socialism is the system of total state control of the economy, and in which the government distributes money completely equally. Fascism is the system of total group loyalty, not necessarily economic redistribution.
I don't appreciate being called names
Well then, don't say "reported, hurr durr"
you just lost the argument
you provoked him @D3plor4ble
Libs owned 😎
You threatened to report me for nothing, then labelled me.
