and they were your buttstock

2020-03-14 02:25:39 UTC

Damn that is cool

2020-03-14 02:25:50 UTC

While the detachable air reservoir was capable of around 30 shots, it took nearly 1,500 strokes of a hand pump to fill those reservoirs. Later, a wagon-mounted pump was provided.

Just seems a bit of place in time tbh. Would of guessed air rifles was a pretty new thing

2020-03-14 02:26:14 UTC

the Girandoni was a novelty

2020-03-14 02:26:37 UTC

but it was a **very effective** novelty

2020-03-14 02:26:38 UTC

I imagine somebody was looking for a way to keep it "waterproof" or something.

2020-03-14 02:26:46 UTC

shoot through a man at 150 paces

2020-03-14 02:27:06 UTC

and it's what?

2020-03-14 02:27:13 UTC

.50 something?

2020-03-14 02:27:19 UTC

I didn't know Lewis and Clarke used air rifles, lol. I wonder if they wore coonskin caps like Davey Crockett

2020-03-14 02:27:24 UTC

@Polychrome and you could reload it from the prone

2020-03-14 02:27:28 UTC

Rapid, accurate fire

2020-03-14 02:27:32 UTC

while concealed

2020-03-14 02:27:32 UTC

ya a 1/2" ball travelling at 500fps would be deadly.

2020-03-14 02:27:36 UTC

and no smoke cloud

2020-03-14 02:28:02 UTC

oh man

2020-03-14 02:28:36 UTC

Insert "Price is Right" loser trombone sound here...

2020-03-14 02:28:38 UTC

daisy powermaster 760 is a good air rifle, it's cheap, and more powerful than what it says on the box. Equal to a .22LR in my opinion.

2020-03-14 02:29:28 UTC

one day my old man found a bunch of holes in some tin roofing, accused me of taking out his .22, I had to show him that with 20 pumps the 760 could poke holes in tin roof with ease.

2020-03-14 02:29:32 UTC

I lost my air rifles when I was young. <:trumplaugh:666855109644386314> think I leave them in attic

2020-03-14 02:29:39 UTC

Gamo makes a few .22 pellet guns

2020-03-14 02:30:39 UTC

I have a nice Benjamin from the late 90's, premium walnut stock. I taught myself how to completely take it apart and rebuild it over the last 30 years.

2020-03-14 02:31:37 UTC

I replaced the original pump hinge pin with something more serviceable. Original pin had to be taken out, put in with a shop press.

2020-03-14 02:31:54 UTC

2000's I added a laser pointer to it

2020-03-14 02:32:00 UTC

I remember when I learned that my old BB gun could shoot nails up to about 20 yards with accuracy

2020-03-14 02:32:16 UTC

I destroyed a LOT of G.I. Joes that way, lol

2020-03-14 02:32:39 UTC

Hello, Sid...

2020-03-14 02:33:02 UTC

I used to hunt grey squirrels with mine <:trumplaugh:666855109644386314>

2020-03-14 02:33:32 UTC

Doves and Robins don't taste bad.

2020-03-14 02:33:44 UTC

dove is just a white pigeon

2020-03-14 02:33:58 UTC

If I had to feed my kids, I'd just tell em it's chicken

2020-03-14 02:34:37 UTC

I've been considering getting some chickens. I know it will piss my neighbors off though

2020-03-14 02:34:51 UTC

So get some then <:trumplaugh:666855109644386314>

2020-03-14 02:34:52 UTC

Be prepared for learning to be extra paranoid.

2020-03-14 02:35:01 UTC

I actually like my neighbors, lol

2020-03-14 02:35:12 UTC

No, not the neighbors, the chickens. EVERYTHING is out to kill them.

2020-03-14 02:35:14 UTC

All the more reason then. It be funny

2020-03-14 02:35:28 UTC

My sister has been very tenacious about her own chicken experiment, but she's lost all of them like... 3 times.

2020-03-14 02:35:38 UTC

cats?
