just checked charts. e-micros have about 1/3 the daily volume of e-minis, but we're still talking like 1m vs 3m

sometimes 2m vs 4m

and sometimes 1.7m vs 5m

looking back historically over the last year, this volume is due to corona. typical trading volumes for both instruments are about 1/4-1/3 less

@Vin_Farren also, i totally misunderstood how trading them works. the price is NOT 2800'ish

the price is whatever margin the broker makes you pay to "promise" you have enough money to do the trading

on TDA, to trade e-mini, you need 13.2k per contract. on ninjatrader, you need 500 bucks

TDA has a 2.25 commission on trading futures plus exch fees. NT has 2.54 all-in for mini and 61 cents for micros

still testing out my strategies. i traded against Delta stonk today. i put up $238 of capital and set my risk/reward to 1:1 with a 25 cent move on 10 shares. when prices finally reached my LMT, i ended up profit 3.19 for the day. not a lot, but i'm just testing the entry/exit strategy and not looking yet at the good movers

I'm up $900 and I'm waiting for that sweet after hours

i went ahead and bought ninjatrader software for all brokers, and i applied for a futures account with one of their partners.

NT will hook up to my existing TDA and oanda accounts and my new futures brokers

don't know exactly which day of the week i'll finally be able to trade futures

it's taking forever to get ninjatrader working b/c i'm still waiting for approvals from TDA and another FCM for futures trading. and until the secondary FCM approves me, i can't even get NT connected to my FX broker... kinda intertwined there

so for now: continuing to use TOS for stock trading. moved to my big system where i can have two views of the instrument open at once, along with a signal indicator, in case i want to use it

i was also just running out of memory with my laptop. gonna have to up my game once i make my money back on the software

For gold im waiting for it to drop then buying up more and enjoying the ride. Bought up a bunch before the dow began crashing because I thought it was gonna happen eventually and inflation would skyrocket.
