The akg-47 is American made but they’re like $1000

2020-04-03 18:10:23 UTC

Lol

2020-04-03 18:10:41 UTC

I mean I spent over that on an RPK so I cant talk shit

2020-04-03 18:11:11 UTC

lol

2020-04-03 18:11:44 UTC

But I lose the AK, my WASR-10 is one of my favorites, but I wouldnt take it over an AR for most operations

2020-04-03 18:11:52 UTC

i'm thinkin' the PSA AK line looks pretty good. i know it's not "traditionally sourced", but i still would like to have one

2020-04-03 18:12:31 UTC

I've heard good thing about those weapons so long as you dont plan on firing full auto through rm

2020-04-03 18:12:33 UTC

Em*

2020-04-03 18:13:36 UTC

psaks are unironically very solid

2020-04-03 18:13:44 UTC

that's what i've heard too

2020-04-03 18:13:52 UTC

You own any?

2020-04-03 18:14:20 UTC

I really like palmetto state, not a fan boy by any means but their shit is good imo

2020-04-03 18:14:37 UTC

Not the ARs though?

2020-04-03 18:14:56 UTC

I wouldn’t buy a cheapo weapon

2020-04-03 18:15:02 UTC

their ARs are also good. they're not the highest standard, but they're reliable

2020-04-03 18:15:26 UTC

Their ARs are good for the price, it's no 1K Ruger AR, but they're pretty solid

2020-04-03 18:15:35 UTC

Especially if you buy a seperate upper and lower

2020-04-03 18:16:20 UTC

as for their lowers, i think they're gtg. it's kind of hard to mess those up since the underlying manufacturers are fairly limited in scope for the various brands

2020-04-03 18:42:08 UTC

i would buy a psa over a ruger lel

2020-04-03 18:42:27 UTC

Just sayin for example

2020-04-03 18:42:57 UTC

but their premium series are gucci, FN barrels, decent rails, only problem is poor qc, you'll sometimes get canted gas blocks, poor staking, etc

2020-04-03 18:43:06 UTC

if you're willing to work on your guns they're gtg

2020-04-03 18:43:44 UTC

especially the premium uppers with the geiselle rails, the complete upper is less than the retail for that rail and barrel

2020-04-03 18:44:21 UTC

i like my Ruger guns. high quality, imho. although, i don't buy their AR platform guns

2020-04-03 18:44:58 UTC

i buy their revolvers, bolt guns, and obviously the 10/22

2020-04-03 18:45:14 UTC

their .22 stuff is really all that's competitive on the market anymore imo, but i don't keep up to date with new products they're making

2020-04-03 18:45:25 UTC

but definitely avoid their ARs

2020-04-03 18:45:36 UTC

their bolt hawkeyes are controlled-feeds

2020-04-03 18:46:44 UTC

i don't know. internet reviews look pretty good in the unbiased blogs i can find

2020-04-03 18:53:00 UTC

failures to feed, shortstroking, poor tolerance on parts, short barrel life, terrible finish even on internal parts like burrs on firing pins, bolt catch not working, and early ones had out of spec buffer tubes that could cause the bolt to get stuck back and possibly crack the lower receiver

2020-04-03 18:53:15 UTC

some of the ruger specific problems

2020-04-03 18:54:07 UTC

main reason to avoid them is just because they're pretty expensive for what you get

2020-04-03 18:54:10 UTC

sounds pretty generic. i mean the reviews overall seem favorable

2020-04-03 18:54:28 UTC

yeah, but you have to remember that most people don't *run* their rifles

2020-04-03 18:54:41 UTC

they shoot a couple hundred rounds at a flat range and bring back glowing reviews

2020-04-03 18:55:09 UTC

well, i don't buy their ARs because if i'm going to buy a high dollar one, i go with other brands. i have a few from Stag Arms that are well-built

2020-04-03 18:55:26 UTC

the reviewers i looked at run their rifles

2020-04-03 18:55:41 UTC

they're not LEO, but they do extensive testing

2020-04-03 18:56:14 UTC

stag is gucci

2020-04-03 18:56:23 UTC

yes
