wrist straps for bench pressing? how would that help? 500 lbs would probably break them or break your wrists or whatever. i never attach myself to the weights.

the spotter wasn't 100% at fault since it was sudden, but he was like 33% at fault for not being solidly beneath the weights and because he probably wasn't strong enough to deadlift that weight up.

this also demonstrates why bench pressing is the most dangerous lift. i do them solo at home inside my power rack so that i don't kill myself if i drop the weights or can't get them up. i failed last week, and i was very happy that i could just roll down the weights and get out w/no problems
