However, Lithgow is a fantastic company that makes fantastic firearms
from the old lee enfields to the current service rifles of the Australian military
They make a fantastic .22 (keep in mind this is pretty much all we can buy) 😂😂
Yeah anywhere that doesnt allow the owning of firearms for self defense is a shithole
I 100% agree, also why I bought a shotgun that I low key keep in my room
Just in case
i've been told that a lot of australians have guns anyways, just not legally
is this true?
Hahahaha there are about 2 million gun owners
Ish
@d3adlyz3bra Just since I've already asked Rye North for his opinion, I plan to get my first firearm in the coming months. What would you recommend?
Not bad for a country of 25 million of which have been convinced guns mean death
@Revan that’s a complicated question 😂😂 depends what you want to do
I was planning to start with a pistol, and maybe get a single-shot rifle
Depends how much I spend on the pistol
Do you want to get into precision shooting?
Last I shot any firearms (back in my Boy Scouts days), I wasn't too good at grouping the shots
If you’re in a state that allows you to conceal carry you’d be dumb not to... chances are you’ll never need it but if you do you’d want one
Get a cheap bolt gun
Maybe I'll have gotten better with age, though
OR
An AR
Apparently the Ruger precision is a very popular entry level bolt gun
I have yet to hear anything negative about a Ruger gun
At some point I want to get a .308 rifle, but that's probably some years down the road
Again, caliber all comes down to what you want to do
Well, if I was using .308... I'd be hunting?
_doesn't know if .308 is a good hunting caliber_
😂😂
It does the job
Any 30 cal will do the job
I mean, I know it'll stop a squirrel or a rabbit dead in their tracks for sure
There might not be a lot left of them, but they won't move
😂 .308 tends to do the job, again depends on what you’re hunting
If I ever get big into firearms stuff I want to buy a .45-70 Government lever-action rifle and mess around with it
recoil buffers in the butt stock, custom barrel and compensator, etc.
Basically, make it so I could shoot the thing for an entire day and not feel like I should surgically replace my shoulder afterwards
Because from what I understand .45-70 Government kicks like a mule
It does
