Recoil? My god man, you can safely shoot at Jerry without being shot by a Hun Sniper! Why are you bothering about Recoil?

2018-08-25 19:14:51 UTC

what video is that? it looks comfy and I wanna see it

2018-08-25 19:17:52 UTC

You asketh, The Internet shall share the Gospil of Gun Jesus.

@Timcast what i recommend for use in home defense for apartments Pistol Caliber, Rifle controllability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP0IeO2jx_c

...submachinegun cost

2018-08-25 20:51:27 UTC

Well it has the high points, the down side is Auto-Ordnance is expensive. The cheep would be a High Point in .45ACP. Lets be honest a semiauto PCC in .45 is going to be expensive no mater what

2018-08-25 20:54:51 UTC

waaait, that's a semiauto

2018-08-25 20:55:11 UTC

also, rifle is actually better for preventing overpen

2018-08-25 20:55:20 UTC

556 has less barrier pen than 45

2018-08-25 20:55:25 UTC

but more armor pen

2018-08-25 20:55:30 UTC

Cheep end is about $1K

2018-08-25 20:57:42 UTC

.45ACP out of a 16" has reduced muzzle velocity and in an appartment will have a harder time busting throw drywall when you use JHP rounds. 16" for 5.56x45 or 9x19 will punch throw drywall no problem.

2018-08-25 20:58:17 UTC

uh, in what world does a long barrel *reduce* muzzle velocity?

2018-08-25 20:58:57 UTC

In .45ACP and .44MAG where the powder burns up in 10 to 14" of barrel.

2018-08-25 20:59:03 UTC

and you're plain wrong, barrier penetration improves with mass, not speed

2018-08-25 20:59:29 UTC

WAT

2018-08-25 20:59:33 UTC

I may be drunk

2018-08-25 20:59:39 UTC

but in no scenario ever

2018-08-25 20:59:46 UTC

does mass EVER change

2018-08-25 21:01:23 UTC

You are drunk.

2018-08-25 21:01:49 UTC

Yes, 5.56 rounds are between 50 and 80 gr (Averages) 9Luger is about 100 to 130 gr (averages) and .45 ACP is normally found in 200 plus gr weights

2018-08-25 21:01:55 UTC

If you shoot a heavy bullet at a wall it'll go through more than a fast bullet is what I'm saying

2018-08-25 21:02:21 UTC

^

2018-08-25 21:02:26 UTC

I mean, if you're getting really technical, then yes, a heavier projectile improves penetration, but it improves at speed^2

2018-08-25 21:02:46 UTC

barrier, not armor...

2018-08-25 21:02:50 UTC

mass x speed x speed

2018-08-25 21:03:06 UTC

and that's energy, not penetration

2018-08-25 21:03:08 UTC

= force

2018-08-25 21:03:15 UTC

= "penetration"

2018-08-25 21:03:25 UTC

No.

2018-08-25 21:03:44 UTC

Those are parts of the Terminal Ballistic Effect equations not the hole Cwow

2018-08-25 21:04:14 UTC

@Crow there's more to going through kevlar and wall respectively than just the energy

2018-08-25 21:04:27 UTC

otherwise a strong punch would go through kevlar

2018-08-25 21:04:40 UTC

Also included are things like Bullet design, diameter, and media being shot at

2018-08-25 21:04:45 UTC

^

2018-08-25 21:05:21 UTC

a strong punch DOES go through kevlar, which is why blunt trauma is a thing

2018-08-25 21:05:34 UTC

but it doesn't penetrate

2018-08-25 21:05:46 UTC

there isn't a hole in the kevlar
