best alternitive to roll20 buuuuuut it does cost money
though as far as i know they cant ban you
Oh God roll20 got worse. Also fantasy grounds I clunky and doesn't have unit vision.
consitering its actually a client you download
"unit vision"?
Like in roll 20 you can give a token vision of 60 feet and an arc of 120
And then set up light barriers so you cant see through walls
if you want to pay 50 dollars a year
Huh thought fantasy grounds didn't have that.
i mean you have to pay that on roll20
oops meant my gm canceled the membership
but the light barrier and token vision in roll20 is real nice for dungeons
@yvaN_ehT_nioJ idk dawnforgedcast has done his own share of shady shit in the past any one else to confirm his statement?
No idea. I only learned about the roll20 stuff last night. Don't play tabletop rpgs either so I know nothing about that section of YT/the internet
also know wizards of the coast arent the best either unfortunately.
pathfinder/paizo is being gay right now and they are partnered with fantasy grounds but them being gay is a bit of a recent thing and fantasy grounds will probably be ok.
And then the Vampire: The Masquerade game makers are waaaay out there.
some of them, others are kinda disgusted at whats going on. vampire isint really a faceless megacorp like wizards who basicly no longer employs anyone who ever had a history in D&D anymore and needs to hire consultents for its new editions to keep them consistent
thank god there's GURPS at least
or just playing old editions of games
graphics cant improve on ttrpgs and the framerate is locked to the players
no actual reason to get a new gen ttrpg unless its gameplay does something you like
the 'beach friends' one was still the best
that one floored me
gurps looks neat
need to read more on it
had some fun times with gurps
great for people who want to make their own thing but aren't autistic enough to try making a homebrew system
I find the system to be modular enough that once you have a grip on it you can homebrew bits and bobs and attach to the base system. But really I only mention GURPS because they seem close to incorruptible
also it's by far my favourite system. the only place it doesn't really excel is if you want something very rules-light and narrative-driven (e.g. Dungeon World) or something based around very high-power superheroes like Superman, Thor, etc.
perhaps the reason GURPS is untouched is it's obscure enough to not catch the attention of regressive leftists, but have enough fame among actual fans of the medium to sustain itself
it's only really the big players that get SJW infections
