peak oil describes the market and national reaction to the worlds need for consuption of a nonrenuible resource that the world uses in so many different applications that it has become dependent upon it in order to maintain its quality of life. currently we are in a world where the discovery of oil reserves has slowed down substantially vs the growth of consuption and demand. this has resulted in the growing plateau of the oil reserve that we know of which does not describe a bright future for oil consumption because demand is not going to fall for it as china and india kick on as world powers

the price of oil is right where it can be given the rate we increase oil reserves and also fluxuates incredibly during times where america cant be the main player in global oil. look at europe, its not having the same story as the us is with oil prices
