i'm just joking because its tumblr

2018-08-01 20:12:57 UTC

It belongs to a "drawfriend"

2018-08-01 20:13:16 UTC

there is plenty of good stuff buried in tumblr.... it just is quiet, and therefore not often brought into the light.

2018-08-01 20:24:56 UTC

That is an amazing writeup on 4chan.

2018-08-01 20:26:01 UTC

It is my go to for explaining anon to people

2018-08-01 20:26:16 UTC

you know, tumblr seems to be overwhelmingly female. this post seems to claim 4chan is pretty equal in its gender distribution, social media seems to primarily attract more females than males. I'm beginning to think that the internet, at least by todays standards, is fulled with may more female influence than people care to admit

2018-08-01 20:26:41 UTC

People often pave over facts to fit narratives

2018-08-01 20:26:50 UTC

also, how hilarious is it that you can technically claim 4chan is the most diverse and equal place on the internet

2018-08-01 20:27:01 UTC

Remember how Black Panther was the first black superhero on the big screen?

2018-08-01 20:27:09 UTC

yeah

2018-08-01 20:27:22 UTC

and deadpool was the first rated r superhero movie

2018-08-01 20:27:29 UTC

Yup

2018-08-01 20:27:33 UTC

which both of those are at least beat by blade

2018-08-01 20:27:48 UTC

and underrated movie if you ask me

2018-08-01 20:27:56 UTC

and there was probably ones before that too

2018-08-01 20:29:21 UTC

I'd actually argue females, but particularly young middle class females are heavily over-represented in everything.

2018-08-01 20:29:47 UTC

i would agree with that assessment

2018-08-01 20:30:06 UTC

the more you really look, the more it seems things are catered to females.

2018-08-01 20:30:18 UTC

because society knows that males follow where females go

2018-08-01 20:30:21 UTC

look at bars

2018-08-01 20:30:41 UTC

they want to attract and keep women because it brings in more customers, usually male.

2018-08-01 20:31:02 UTC

wait wait wait

2018-08-01 20:31:11 UTC

there's no way it is equal

2018-08-01 20:31:36 UTC

what is "it"

2018-08-01 20:31:36 UTC

tumblr IS overwhelmingly female

2018-08-01 20:31:50 UTC

but most online communities are mostly male

2018-08-01 20:32:01 UTC

It's it

2018-08-01 20:32:03 UTC

males tend for anon platforms

2018-08-01 20:32:14 UTC

females shine on social media

2018-08-01 20:32:47 UTC

here is a question: if you have no way of knowing what someone's sex is, what sex do you default to online?

2018-08-01 20:32:54 UTC

male

2018-08-01 20:33:09 UTC

if the user doesn't correct you, how do you know you are correct?

2018-08-01 20:33:21 UTC

before social media, there was NO incentive for women to be online

2018-08-01 20:33:34 UTC

you are about to prove my point for me

2018-08-01 20:33:38 UTC

I'm not saying there werent

2018-08-01 20:33:48 UTC

I'm saying that overwhelmingly they were male

2018-08-01 20:33:49 UTC

there was no incentive for them to be women online

2018-08-01 20:34:05 UTC

the reverse

2018-08-01 20:34:17 UTC

women always said they were women in the beginning

2018-08-01 20:34:28 UTC

how do you know
