Man, I guess modern cartoons are in a really rough state these days since I can think of only like 5 that I'd put in the same category as the great modern anime.
and i believe the movie series they made before that
ah nvm, it just missed the mark
only the last movie came out in the 2010's
hey Schedrevka which 5, I need stuff to watch that doesn't require me to read
oh, uchouten kazoku was way too fucking japanesey for anyone not totally obsessed with anime, but it was awesome
if you're using Overlord as part of your argument, I'm dismissing you outright. If you seriously hold this average junk over MLP or Gumball, I can't really present an argument, and we'll have to agree to disagree, note that this Is **entirely** subjective, as aside from the lizard sex I see no value in Overlord over say Gumball
that's fine if you don't like it
but not liking it doesn't make it bad
Gumball which was already mentioned, but aside from that I'd still say that Steven Universe is worth watching even though its really annoying at times it's great at others, Star Vs is good if you're ok with it being somewhat girly, Adventure Time starts out great, but loses its steam around the 4th season.
oh of course not, just like liking it doesn't make it good
youjo senki was last year
i don't just think it's good because i like it
Most of the good modern cartoons do have big caveats to them which is pretty telling
i like a ton of anime that i know is objectively terrible
Have you watched any of the other anime mentioned Cwow? What do you consider the best of the best from anime of the past?
humm...
er are we talking about anime and cartoons like they are the same thing here?
no
oh hey Kill la Kill is from the 2010s
Best anime: Cowboy Bebop. Fight me if you disagree.
i mean i dont mind if we are cuz thats pretty progressive but ive never seen that before
It's mainly a conversation on whether anime has sucked since the 90's ended
also i just thought of a great example
fullmetal alchemist
had a 2004 release and a 2009 release
looking back, the greatest experience I've had with any anime comes in movie format, but that's sort of cheating, since the same is true for ALL animation, A movie, per hour invested, is *almost* always better than a series
anime hasent been my taste since the 90s
oh I just bought that entire series
's manga
but thats not to say there cant be good anime
i mean trigun was made in the 2000s
Most anime these days are overridden by awful tropes.
Usually dumb main characters.
I think FMA is seriously overrated. It's good, but I wouldn't say it's great. It's certainly great compared to other similar shonen series, but that's about it
arch-fiend you should watch megalobox
it's a love letter to 90's anime
Huh
I never preferred movies to any other medium tbh
too short
too shallow
there is a lot of 90s anime i still havent seen so ill have to get around to things when i get around to them
