it makes sense for the design, since a lot of DOOM 2016 is room-corridor-room with limited enemy spawns and not a massive fucking maze with ludicrous enemy counts
but you are definitely slower
unless you also wanna suggest that Q3's base movespeed is higher than DOOM II's
I actually think doom 3 is a good horror action game even if it's terrible as a doom game.
it just felt like an xbox era shooter with the lights shut off at the start, so I turned it off and didnt bother with it again
slow movespeed makes sense for DOOM 3 though at least

yeah, I've been told there are speed upgrades, which made me throw up a bit in my mouth, but I'm still not going to play through til the point where the game allows me to finally play doomguy proper
also I find it bizarre that DOOM3 MP has such a slow movespeed. 50 ups lower than Q1/3
thats why i like d3, because i never been into generic shooters
but i gave the doom 2016 a fair shake, and after a while i started to get why people like it
i grew up with original doom and liked it at the time, but after all the generic copies i stopped seeing the appeal
I played the demo and didnt like anything so I never bothered with the rest
Also the demo is just the full fucking game despite only letting you play like 1 level

Regarding shooters, I just got into either MP driven shit, or a small roster of solid SP games
i only played the full thing because im an xbox peasant and it showed up on game pass
after playing the demo i didnt get the point, but playing the full thing reveals that you at least have to be strategic about ammo, weapon choice and when to use the chainsaw and so on, and it the challenge gets pretty fun after a while
I'm not really going to enjoy the full game if I dont enjoy the core gameplay. If I want a game that forces me to do those things I'll just boot a .wad, and it wont take me X number of hours to reach the "good part"
Honestly the sheer number of games out there has turned it into more of a competition for my time, especially as I spend less time gaming. Most modern vidya, nuDOOM included, just arent efficient enough about it. Best I can get is some fuckaround title
I pretty much agree despites liking D3. I just don't think it entirely deserves the hate it gets aside from being a poor fit for the series. There are just too many choices now in the market and being an adult and having less time that a 'good' game isn't really good enough to sink 10 hours into.
Like if I wanted to re-play that sort of game I could just play RE4 instead
it's like, I'm on an RPG kick right now, and a lot of people will point to RPGs that I find kinda neat, but just dont have quite enough desire to play
oh fuck and once I'm done Hollow Knight I need to start on Momodora 4 and beat the extra content for Shovel Knight
and the list goes on and on ad infinitum
