and I don't care about Discord's ToS

2018-11-12 17:27:01 UTC

actually that one doesn't break TOS I think

2018-11-12 17:27:21 UTC

needs to be more explicit I think, or something, whatever

2018-11-12 17:27:28 UTC

Discord only got popular because there's no censorship

2018-11-12 17:27:38 UTC

they can only nuke servers eventually if there's reports

2018-11-12 17:27:54 UTC

I seriously doubt that

2018-11-12 17:27:56 UTC

which has mostly been abused and never used properly

2018-11-12 17:28:02 UTC

Discord got popular because it's a really good platform

2018-11-12 17:28:23 UTC

what competitor gets even close?

2018-11-12 17:28:29 UTC

Skype sure as hell doesn't

2018-11-12 17:28:31 UTC

nah, Discord got popular because there's no censorship

2018-11-12 17:28:36 UTC

proof?

2018-11-12 17:28:45 UTC

loli

2018-11-12 17:28:47 UTC

there

2018-11-12 17:28:59 UTC

>really good

I'd say just better than most mainstream social media

2018-11-12 17:29:00 UTC

you said i couldn't post it

2018-11-12 17:29:23 UTC

I could post whatever I wanted here and Discord would only take action if someone reported it

2018-11-12 17:29:33 UTC

korean loli should be keki

2018-11-12 17:30:03 UTC

most of the servers that Discord nuked weren't even violating any ToS rules

2018-11-12 17:30:53 UTC

@Crow how new are you to Discord?

2018-11-12 17:31:01 UTC

couple of years, no idea tbh

2018-11-12 17:32:24 UTC

no taka in this server 😭

2018-11-12 17:33:11 UTC

I joined in the really early days as me and my friends got tired of Skype consistently making every update less stable, less user-friendly and more annoying, then we didn't really use it for a couple of years, and then I started using it "for real" a few years back

2018-11-12 17:36:31 UTC

it sure didn't get popular because of the voice chat quality

2018-11-12 17:36:38 UTC

which was shit on the early days

2018-11-12 17:37:04 UTC

the great thing about Discord is that there's no censorship. Even if you wanted to discuss controvertial stuff

2018-11-12 17:37:09 UTC

better than steam and at least on par with Skype was our experience, but that's really highly anecdotal

2018-11-12 17:37:23 UTC

noone would stop you from creating a server and inviting who you wanted to

2018-11-12 17:37:58 UTC

but can you prove that is a priority for the majority of Discord users?

2018-11-12 17:38:02 UTC

there's no admins reading stuff

2018-11-12 17:38:12 UTC

I would say so

2018-11-12 17:38:14 UTC

for the longest time they branded themselves as a client for Gamers

2018-11-12 17:38:24 UTC

still do, to an extent

2018-11-12 17:38:35 UTC

all youtubers have discord servers now

2018-11-12 17:38:39 UTC

i don't censor on my discord at all

2018-11-12 17:38:42 UTC

most aren't even gamers

2018-11-12 17:38:43 UTC

everything goes

2018-11-12 17:38:54 UTC

I have no responsibility for what people post.

2018-11-12 17:38:58 UTC

bingo

2018-11-12 17:39:01 UTC

Discord can't hold me liable for it.

2018-11-12 17:39:15 UTC

your anecdotes don't count for much tbh
