Ancap can't realistically work unless the people are good. But authoritarianism doesn't really work at all. So realistically, an ancap society wouldn't last for long. A good example of this was with the pilgrims who came to the new world.

Eventually they had to create the articles of confederation to make sure there was some cohesive government so they didn't get taken over

That's not my point, my point is that all extremes of the political spectrum turn into authoritarians.
