I dont put much weight to it and I stay away from all these arguments about the cross(like take them down in public buildings), I don't consider myself Christian and I don't defend the cross because I believe in it or take a side with all the religious folk here, I see a solid historical and cultural argument there, and in this case, an eagle with a closed crown(it symbolizes full independence) with a cross on top of it makes perfect sense for the Polish coat of arms, our kings were crowned with such a crown for centuries, and the cross would be small after all, many Western European countries use the cross in their coats of arms or even flags, with that said I don't see a problem in the absence of the cross either, the current coat of arms has to be overhauled for other reasons than that
