Destroying your own productive capacities is just enslaving yourself to those of others

2020-03-30 13:14:43 UTC

Look at how easily you can destroy global production chains by just taking china out of the equation

2020-03-30 13:14:51 UTC

It doesn't matter if you can buy cars now from some foreign company at a cheaper rate if your countries' potential productive capacity isn't made use of

2020-03-30 13:15:19 UTC

HOW DOES HAVING MORE GOODS AND SERVICES AT A LOWER PRICE MAKE YOU LESS PRODUCTIVE?

2020-03-30 13:15:50 UTC

Because it prevents the development of industries in your own country

2020-03-30 13:16:04 UTC

You're not producing more just consuming more at a cheaper rate

2020-03-30 13:16:26 UTC

Which makes barriers to entry for developing industry in your own country higher

2020-03-30 13:16:43 UTC

If I live in country X and we lose all of our jobs in the iron industry from foreign competition, all the goods in our country that are made with steel will see lower costs

2020-03-30 13:16:51 UTC

thats an increase in productive capacity

2020-03-30 13:17:11 UTC

Net productive capacity increases

2020-03-30 13:17:27 UTC

I don't disagree that importing iron is good

2020-03-30 13:17:39 UTC

Because it makes manufacturing more competitive

2020-03-30 13:18:14 UTC

It doesn't make economic sense to be autarchic in that

2020-03-30 13:19:21 UTC

You're starting to make sense

2020-03-30 13:20:26 UTC

However usually this looks more like this
Your country is stuck with an economy primarily about the primary sector
You trade away what little capital you earn thorough it for cheaper foreign manufactured products. Industry deosn't develop unless foreign capital decides to invest or your country decides to institute some tariffs and kickstart industry

2020-03-30 13:21:23 UTC

Why do you want industry?

2020-03-30 13:21:23 UTC

That industry keeps more capital in your own country which allows for the development of others etc.

2020-03-30 13:22:21 UTC

Wealthy nations are industrial. Nations stuck with a primary sector economy but a dense poulation are pretty miserable

2020-03-30 13:22:52 UTC

Most primary sector economies are stuck with subsistence farming and whatnot

2020-03-30 13:23:39 UTC

"That industry keeps more capital in your own country which allows for the development of others etc."

2020-03-30 13:23:45 UTC

What

2020-03-30 13:24:20 UTC

Instead of your capital moving overseas it can be directed into growing your domestic industry basically

2020-03-30 13:25:26 UTC

Wait

2020-03-30 13:25:33 UTC

what

2020-03-30 13:25:46 UTC

but by moving the capital abroad

2020-03-30 13:25:50 UTC

you get more goods?

2020-03-30 13:26:06 UTC

In that moment yeah

2020-03-30 13:26:10 UTC

But not in the long run

2020-03-30 13:26:30 UTC

Yeah I'm outta this server

2020-03-30 13:26:42 UTC

This is why the right wing sucks right now

2020-03-30 13:27:01 UTC

Because this one dude disagrees with you?

2020-03-30 13:27:04 UTC

<:thrinking:638952313167544360>

2020-03-30 13:28:37 UTC

Imagine being against industry

2020-03-30 13:30:16 UTC

Return to tradition and ban secondary/tertiary

2020-03-30 13:31:13 UTC

Why yes I want cheap shit now and trust capitalists in China to reinvest the money I spent on their shit into my own society

2020-03-30 13:31:35 UTC

That'll make my society richer in the long term

2020-03-30 13:32:04 UTC

This is why I can't take lolberts seriously

2020-03-30 13:36:56 UTC

>This is why the right wing sucks right now
Because it's not Jewish enough?

2020-03-30 13:37:01 UTC

kike

2020-03-30 13:37:12 UTC

What a passive aggressive bitch, was that guy.

2020-03-30 13:37:12 UTC

@Mr. Nessel I think the right wing position, in a true sense in economics, is to deconstruct the public/private distinction
