doesn't the javelin missile require line of sight for target acquisition

it says the effective range is like 1.5 miles, but i dont know if that is the launcher or the missile

I think it does require line of sight

2020-03-24 19:30:35 UTC

Yeah

2020-03-24 19:31:52 UTC

Ah

super dangerous, just give it to your hezbollah allies or w/e

2020-03-24 19:34:54 UTC

the worst part about fighting a near peer adversary today is that their tank have laser warning recivers and can determine where the missile is coming from really quick

2020-03-24 19:35:31 UTC

so carrying multiple javelins sounds like a rather bad idea, the moment the 1st shot is fired
the AT crew is in danger

the javelin is asymmetric so they probably dont fire them at every possible target

2020-03-24 19:36:20 UTC

They say in the video that since the javelin doesn’t use lasers it’s harder for active protection to pick up

2020-03-24 19:36:55 UTC

they dont have to use lasers in order to be found out

2020-03-24 19:37:06 UTC

the tank has onboard radar aswell

2020-03-24 19:37:13 UTC

only the newest ones

2020-03-24 19:37:36 UTC

Interesting

2020-03-24 19:37:43 UTC

also russians have outfitted all their tank destroyer vehicles to carry multiple atgms

2020-03-24 19:39:18 UTC

the russians pretty much inveted the APS system
they know the main weakness of it is if you fire multiple missiles or rockets to destroy the tank

2020-03-24 19:40:17 UTC

Because aps can be used against atgms

is he saying that they have a tank fired missile that is also top attack?

2020-03-24 19:42:12 UTC

who is they

2020-03-24 19:42:22 UTC

yes they do

2020-03-24 19:42:36 UTC

krasnopol and hermes

2020-03-24 19:43:48 UTC

it is top attack

2020-03-24 19:45:49 UTC

2020-03-24 19:46:22 UTC
