Deflation is called when prices fall and the currency gains in value
Inflation when prices rise and or the currency loses value

Yes it's pretty bad but it's not what is happening or is going to happen
It's bad because if things just continually get cheaper people unnecessarily delay their purchases and investments
A pretty bad incentive if the economy is supposed to grow
Inflation is only bad if it's excessive which it isn't because of central banks
Libertarians will throw a fit about fiat currency not being real money but it's infinitely better than tying a currency to something like gold
Especially now when gold has industrial uses etc. and fluctuates wildly in value
