Ok so do they now know that
the universe began as a point and expanded from there
well, not exactly
Not
Are there Christians who accept the age of the universe who reject the big band
bang
you can trace back the background radiation in the universe to a single point, allegedly
like is that a thing
idk
there are definitely many young earth creationists
in the US at least
there are a lot of retard prots
But they are refferencing like old earth or theistic evolutionists
wdym?
Wait akshually I’ve never understood that
How come the universe expands radially in all directions when everything started at a single point and gravity exists?
<:thonking:280946825647620096>
conservation of energy
<:thonkery:498242304792854549>
also gravity is a very weak force
Well it’s proportional to mass right?
gravity is so weak that your legs can overcome the force of the entire earth's gravity
Well but thats because it’s just the earth
What about the gravitational pull of all the mass in the universe?
the electromagnetic and nuclear forces are much stronger than gravity
Fair
also everything was given an initial momentum outward when the big bang happened
the universe should slow down because of gravity, though
but apparently the expansion is accelerating
still a great mystery
Hmm
Well that does make sense
as to why we perceive this
Where did that momentum come from to begin with though?
no one knows
probably no one will ever know
since it precedes any notion of time and space
I mean the principle of causality is the ultimate grounding of my belief in God
But sometimes that just feels like a cop-out
I sort of beleive that momentum was from the big explosion since in theory it is still expanding.
