It's what I have heard

2020-02-21 15:36:04 UTC

@Endeavour I’m not sure about liberalism crushing the human spirit, so much as it unchains man’s fallen nature

2020-02-21 15:36:24 UTC

Neoliberalism certainly did

2020-02-21 15:36:33 UTC

It turns people into animals.

2020-02-21 15:36:46 UTC

Another way of phrasing my point

2020-02-21 15:37:01 UTC

Idk about the 50s being terrible. Like you probably could've ignored the decline at that point still

2020-02-21 15:37:59 UTC

Socialism certainly had more aspirations than our elites have today. More grandiose ideas that come with central planning and whatnot

2020-02-21 15:38:19 UTC

Especially them chasing the automated socialism meme towards the end

2020-02-21 15:39:20 UTC

@Vulpes Depends what you mean by "based". I spent quite a bit of time in Russia. The sickness of modernity is certainly there. So materialism and nihilism are still a problem. But compared to the woke social policy in the West, it's infinitely better. At least you're not expect to believe that gender doesn't exist. It's not perfect, but still way better.

2020-02-21 15:39:23 UTC

But day to day life not so much

2020-02-21 15:40:27 UTC

Gouda cheese

2020-02-21 15:44:48 UTC

Heres the thing

2020-02-21 15:45:01 UTC

I have heard from Russians that putin likes to play the diversity game with the Tartars and other ethnic minorities, the rampant abortion and that the media is also pushing liberalism. In all it's not as bad as in the west, but I think that the "Russia is gona save the Europe" thing is a meme

2020-02-21 15:45:01 UTC

inb4 at everyone hot take

2020-02-21 15:45:13 UTC

Can we name a list of based states?

2020-02-21 15:45:26 UTC

No they’re all cucked in their own way

2020-02-21 15:46:04 UTC

I think we’re gonna need non Nat-Soc Fascism in Eastern Europe

2020-02-21 15:47:31 UTC

Eh

2020-02-21 15:47:34 UTC

Look at Spain

2020-02-21 15:47:56 UTC

30 years of fascism and immediately became one of the most pozzed countries in the world within 10 years

2020-02-21 15:48:10 UTC

You need to address the factors which lead to cultural degeneration

2020-02-21 15:48:18 UTC

Not the symptoms

2020-02-21 15:50:01 UTC

What is it though?

2020-02-21 15:51:46 UTC

Read uncle ted

2020-02-21 15:51:58 UTC

Unironicaly

2020-02-21 15:52:17 UTC

Yea I’m not joking he literally answers all of these questions

2020-02-21 15:52:53 UTC

Uncle ted has a lot more writings than just his famous manifesto

2020-02-21 15:53:21 UTC

I haven't read him but it is on my reading list

2020-02-21 15:57:35 UTC

@Vulpes Russia doesn't have affirmative action to my knowledge. You'll see Central Asian guys working on the streets, but the businesses are almost entirely white (at least from what I saw). I'd say the average person is about as "based" as your average Republican voter from Alabama. I met a few liberals (they seem to have absorbed it through pop culture), but they don't have institutional power.

But yes. No one is going to save the rest of Europe. Europeans need to save themselves. If the big countries (UK, France, and Germany) fall, the rest probably will too.

2020-02-21 15:58:14 UTC

Facts

2020-02-21 16:00:13 UTC

I don't like to think of countries as "based" or "cucked". The only thing that matters is the ideas that have institutional power. The average person of any country doesn't have any power or much interest in politics. They'll generally follow the rules passed down by the culture which the institutions influence.

2020-02-21 16:01:13 UTC

we need to destroy pop culture somehow

2020-02-21 16:01:40 UTC

BUT I NEED TO CONSOOM

I agree with the point about institutional control, but I’d add that demographics are the ultimate determinant over the long term. Institutions will always swing and there will always be intellectual fads, but as long as there’s another clean generation in the wait they will always revert back to the norm.

2020-02-21 16:25:12 UTC

The problem with demographic shift is that the norm is fundamentally transformed, such that it can never be returned to

2020-02-21 16:25:35 UTC

Russia is pretty bad demographically so I think they'll just eventually transition into an ethnocracy
