Considering these things, it is wise to sometimes (not always) ask saints to pray for you.

Also, asking a living person to pray for you is quite different than asking a dead one that resides in Heaven

To say that the saints can hear your prayers is saying they are like God and implying they are at least somewhat omniscient

Aside from this, Paul *explicitly* states in 1 Timothy 2 that “there is *one* mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus”

That’s the significance of the veil in the temple and why the cloth tore in two, the barrier that separated us and Heaven was broken and we can now communicate with God freely as we are, via *Christ and His sacrifice alone*
