2020-04-09 20:55:59 UTC

2020-04-09 20:58:10 UTC

gentrification?

2020-04-09 20:58:20 UTC

but i cant see the city getting any better
unless they kick out the blacks
and stop voting democrats

2020-04-09 20:59:22 UTC

the dems are creteins when it comes to economics or anything really
the only thing the republicans are good at is economics while they suck at everything else

2020-04-09 20:59:33 UTC

every few years there is word that Detroit is going to recover. It never happens and will never happen.

2020-04-09 21:00:05 UTC

well aslong as thare are blacks there and they keep voting for people who got them in that mess
they will fail

2020-04-09 21:00:11 UTC

The Republican aren't even good at economics.

2020-04-09 21:00:26 UTC

some billionaire is spending one billion dollars in Detroit to revitalize the economy there. No one follows him and nothing happens

2020-04-09 21:00:36 UTC

i know
but the dems are somehow even worse

2020-04-09 21:00:46 UTC

because they have to buy votes

2020-04-09 21:00:53 UTC

buy vooters

2020-04-09 21:01:12 UTC

Honestly neither party has any long term plans beyond win an election.

2020-04-09 21:01:44 UTC

And the Republicans can't even follow that cause they import tons of immigrants for cheap labor that vote democrat.

2020-04-09 21:02:01 UTC

They are not rewarded for having long term plans, so why should they care?

2020-04-09 21:02:10 UTC

I've almost entirely given up on democracy.

2020-04-09 21:02:14 UTC

2020-04-09 21:02:48 UTC

An economy that has a lot of its source from crime but an economy.

2020-04-09 21:04:56 UTC

My Lolbert brother is now saying that “when the economy tanks people die” in a discussion about focusing on human life over economics because of Corona

This is after my sister, whose husband has some health issues, has said that she wouldn’t care as much about it if it meant people lived

2020-04-10 00:15:26 UTC

She said “I would never ever choose the economy over him” and he responded, “and that’s why I’m glad you’re not running for office”

2020-04-10 00:25:01 UTC

<:honk:594728750265008128>

2020-04-10 00:28:54 UTC

I responded that essentially economies and societies and money can eventually be built back up if they collapse, while humans can’t

And he just did the condescending “👏When👏the👏economy👏tanks👏people👏die👏”

2020-04-10 00:29:44 UTC

Why were there not massive amounts of death during the great depression?

2020-04-10 00:32:33 UTC

When the economy tanks people do die. But thats also not really much of an argument. The economy always tanks eventually and we have been in a bull market for a decade now, plus the FED bought this market through inflationary policy after 2008. This was going to happen regardless of Corona.
Plus the "people die due to health costs in recessions" argument really only applies to the states
