For up here in Canada we have so much Airble land for cultivation.

But most of the land is Uninhabited.

If we were to halt immgration to Canada and focus more on a native birthrate and have start our push up north we (Canadians) could be more self sufficent.

Canadas land is like 7% airable and its all in the south

And is going up. because of so called "Global warming" the airable land is expanding.

Farmer's are now allowed to head farther north without the risk of the crop going amuck.

You still couldnt feed 30 million people + growth with traditional farming methods.

Which is realtily easy depending again 1. on were the farms are located. 2. you slowly get off the market for international food. 3. if the years food supply goes amuck you store food for that case.
