my family has mostly been in america for a long time as well
most people dont remember what Europeans of old american stock look like
so they think old american stock today
must be 'from somewhere else' rofl
its not something to necessarily blame someones ethnographic ignorance for
but its more or less funny
yeah I have no native american
which i found interesting as well
as far as I know, I don't have any either
yeah many people think
Neither do I
nope
it all depends on where your ancestors came from and how they traveled
doesnt even matter how far back they came
What do you mean?
if one of your italian relatives lets say
from only seventy or so years ago came to a big city
he was far more likely to intermingle with other ethnicities densely packed
as opposed to if one of your 16th century relatives
came to some small agrarian village in the south
just off the frontier
I suppose
@AngloAmericanGod True.
people who lived in the back country
were far morel ikely to already have arranged marriages in line
yeah my mom has some irish in her because she has green eyes
Would you say southerners are the most mixed united states citizens
nah
i'd say the south
was the most anglo saxon
