California

2019-04-23 19:21:51 UTC

That explains your views

2019-04-23 19:22:01 UTC

It depends on where you live

2019-04-23 19:22:07 UTC

I live near chicago

2019-04-23 19:22:09 UTC

Taxes are bad

2019-04-23 19:22:20 UTC

Not every Californian is a liberal

2019-04-23 19:22:28 UTC

If we get universal healthcare in US, my family wouldnt make enough to sustain itself

2019-04-23 19:22:49 UTC

Taxes also cost money. It would be better just to buy a plan which is cheaper here.

2019-04-23 19:22:55 UTC

62% more taxes on income. Thats like more than half of your paycheck gone to healthcare

2019-04-23 19:23:03 UTC

Is it really that worth it? No

2019-04-23 19:23:16 UTC

@sarge Medicare should be allowed to negotiate prescription drug prices to keep them low

2019-04-23 19:23:41 UTC

Thats what I want, but having free healthcare is fantasy

2019-04-23 19:23:51 UTC

@Andrew_Hunter which will lower the doctors pay as well as the amount of money research america has for medicine.

2019-04-23 19:23:53 UTC

Drug companies do rip us off on the cost

2019-04-23 19:23:57 UTC

The prices of prescription drugs these days are just downright unethical

2019-04-23 19:24:10 UTC

We also have a group of people who take care of that.

2019-04-23 19:24:16 UTC

Look at Skrelli and congress.

2019-04-23 19:24:27 UTC

Shkrelli*

2019-04-23 19:24:32 UTC

I believe the government should regulate the prices of medicine. But universal healthcare is a socialist unreal fantasy

2019-04-23 19:24:51 UTC

The USA is different from tiny European countries.

2019-04-23 19:25:12 UTC

True and we have much more infrastructure

2019-04-23 19:25:14 UTC

I don’t believe it’s acceptable for thousands to die every year because they can’t afford medical care

2019-04-23 19:25:39 UTC

Ok but universal healthcare isnt the solution

2019-04-23 19:25:41 UTC

They can they just don't want to fork over the 60 bucks a month for it and aren't smart enough to get health care at 18

2019-04-23 19:25:52 UTC

Putting money in the pot early is important for insurance.

2019-04-23 19:26:15 UTC

Also those people arent your average americans that get jobs. A lot are just people relying on welfare who are to lazy to get a job

2019-04-23 19:26:39 UTC

Bernie said so himself if you work hard you can get rich.

2019-04-23 19:26:48 UTC

And yes he did say that which agitated his base.

2019-04-23 19:27:28 UTC

Thats true because my family came here as immigrants during when Yugoslavia was communist. They were starving. They came here and worked their asses off. They now have cars, house, farm and more

2019-04-23 19:27:34 UTC

The american dream is possible

2019-04-23 19:27:50 UTC

Gotta work hard Welfare isn't going to sustain you long term.

2019-04-23 19:27:55 UTC

They arent dying on the streets

2019-04-23 19:27:56 UTC

If you work hard you can get rich but not so rich that the Walton family owns more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans

2019-04-23 19:28:08 UTC

They didn’t receive welfare or free medicare

2019-04-23 19:28:23 UTC

1 family should not own more wealth than over 150 million people

2019-04-23 19:28:40 UTC

Did that family work for it?

2019-04-23 19:28:56 UTC

No

2019-04-23 19:28:58 UTC

Yes, so did generations before them

2019-04-23 19:29:09 UTC

Oh they got rich from no where?

2019-04-23 19:29:22 UTC

Yes they did. And also wealth doesn't stagnate. Rockerfellers were the richest people to ever exist but now are not.

2019-04-23 19:29:30 UTC

The Walton family is no different.
