You have way, way, WAY too much faith in technology and the police.

These people are not supermen.

And technology fucks up all the time, especially when in the hands of people who barely passed high school.

It is also not economical to go after thieves. They have bigger fish to make fish and chips with.

My point is that the technology isn't a panacea. And against what is a brewing violent insurgency in the US, it'll be nearly worthless.

Wacka, remember the 2011 riots. How many ppl were charged? That went on for days, they had hundreds of thousands of hours of thousands of ppl bruning London to the ground and they only got a fraction of them. They are there to stop you and me from being bad boys.

There are cheap devices which are easily acquired which jam transmitted signals like cell and wifi. Many camera's use wireless communication so it is possible to freak them.

There is no expectation of privacy in public. In order to carry a gun you have to have a theory and practical test. I think everyone, even those without guns should take gun safety courses. Like first aid and cpr
