yeah i initially was refering to the drones when i said they really believe in equality, hence our disagreement earlier

2018-06-29 21:56:39 UTC

Maybe not yachts; Mao lived a very simple life.

2018-06-29 21:56:43 UTC

the upper people are totally in it for personal gain

2018-06-29 21:56:43 UTC

drones barely believe in anything

2018-06-29 21:56:54 UTC

The Kim regime loved their comforts though.

2018-06-29 21:57:10 UTC

But the common denominator is power.

2018-06-29 21:57:22 UTC

drones believe in "doing good", they just can't think what being good is, so they listen to what the preachers say

2018-06-29 21:58:02 UTC

you see it yourself in those on the street interviews, they're usually 2 questions away from having nothing to say anymore

2018-06-29 21:58:06 UTC

"good" is socially constructed; if their peers all tell them that whatever they are doing is moral and righteous, they feel wonderful.

2018-06-29 21:58:42 UTC

What we have looks to be the beginning of the bolshevik revolution

2018-06-29 21:58:51 UTC

Well, street interviewers probably look for the most retarded person they can find (though it's a target-rich environment at protests).

2018-06-29 21:59:28 UTC

I dunno man. The Bolsheviks were born out of three years of brutal freezing slaughter and defeat in WW1.

2018-06-29 21:59:37 UTC

I doubt it, Bolsheviks were like "dying" levels of poor,

Modern western world made people too comfy to start a "bolshevik" revolution

2018-06-29 21:59:55 UTC

This is more like Weimar Germany.

2018-06-29 22:00:13 UTC

Though not as pronounced of course.

2018-06-29 22:01:59 UTC

I'm reminded of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYhB4AaAcqM
Obviously Aydin is a massive partisan, but she does a good job of covering the post-WW1 political situation.

2018-06-29 22:03:44 UTC

Weimar Germany with a twist

2018-06-29 22:05:16 UTC

nah, but from what i gather, this is a new wave of insanity,

As i understand it most of these radical leftists, are the children of middle-class people
They're the bourgoise they want to depose, and have never fought a war,

So instead of the uprising being the workers/the poor/the downtrodden

Its the rich, trying to use the poor as an excuse to attack the even richer

2018-06-29 22:05:49 UTC

Well.. I was referring to the Politics of the area, The use of Propaganda to put a core group in power.

2018-06-29 22:06:16 UTC

That's part. There's also a crapload of legit poor, mostly inner-city blacks, first generation latino immigrants, and illegals.

2018-06-29 22:06:18 UTC

Although, I do not disagree with who is doing it.

2018-06-29 22:06:42 UTC

well thats usually the plan with any group,
Use any means (tell any lies) propaganda, to get into power and then fix it so you stay in power so you maintain control

2018-06-29 22:07:43 UTC

The end result is an Authoritarian system which has to scapegoat a population. In this case it seems to be the CIS White male that is going to be the target of abuse.

2018-06-29 22:09:01 UTC

CIS whites are the new Jews

2018-06-29 22:09:08 UTC

If you read (or listen to) Explaining Postmodernism it explains in great detail how Marx's class conflict got transformed into the intersectional conflict we see today.

2018-06-29 22:09:39 UTC

I lack a lot of knowledge in that area, Guess I need to hit the books.

2018-06-29 22:09:46 UTC

It's free.

2018-06-29 22:09:55 UTC

It's on youtube as an audiobook.

2018-06-29 22:10:03 UTC

And the PDF is on the prof's website.

2018-06-29 22:10:05 UTC

Cool! Will look into it.. Thanks.

2018-06-29 22:10:39 UTC

It makes sense tbh,

The class conflict got resolved in the west, once we got to the stage where even the poor can enjoy a life, without fear of starvation etc

So they need a new method to goad followers

2018-06-29 22:10:42 UTC

Stephen R.C. Hicks?

2018-06-29 22:11:03 UTC

Be warned that the first third of the book is really heavy in the jargon necessary to tackle philosophical systems. Might help to write down definitions of terms you don't understand so that you can refer back to them later.

2018-06-29 22:11:09 UTC

yeah, that's him

2018-06-29 22:11:21 UTC

Cool. Grabbed it. Free on Kindle

2018-06-29 22:11:37 UTC

I still have a hard time thinking in terms of 'epistemology' and 'metaphysics'.

2018-06-29 22:12:38 UTC

Also you might want to save the chart I just posted in <#398973785426100234>

2018-06-29 22:13:23 UTC

Got it. Thanks

2018-06-29 22:15:48 UTC

That is a rather odd graphic. Liberal Capitalism is modernistic and socialism is Post-Modernism. Guess I am going to have to read the book to figure out the leap.

2018-06-29 22:17:48 UTC

I think its cuz Capitalism existed before 1900's
And Post-modernism is the counter to Modernism
So Socialism came after, and was the counter to "the top gaining all the wealth"

2018-06-29 22:22:38 UTC

Liberal capitalism really got underway in the 1700s with the rise of fractional reserve banking. Basically at the same time modernism really gained momentum.
