he'll be better off for it
yeah
exactly
Honestly I have a theory
I think social media pushes people to either far left or far right the more time they spend on it and not out in the real world
well i do plan on making either a mastodon instance or a plemora instances
Lango, you use reddit?
and you know what im going to have as a rule there?
Nope never have never will
no politics
period
lol
I use reddit a lot - I don't think my political affiliation has ever changed
fair
i had one
but i closed it
the place is too far gone for me
What boards do you use?
I am more sympathetic to conservatives than I were before - and have more disdain for the far left than before - but I'm still a liberal
mostly worldnews
ok
some r/neutralpolitics
also i need to be very careful when i make my instance because there is this one regressive far left prick that would add my server onto it and then its there permanently on a black list
r/neutralpolitics is top quality stuff
not a lot of traffic though
ah
interesting that it doesnt get much traffic
the sever im on is listed on there for not proactively taking down hate speech
do you think people are more likely to go to more partisan boards?
Lang, they have very strict rules on commnets - so each comment takes more time
and people don't shitpost
ok
Id like to look into the effects of social media on ideology for a future vid
Lang you make videos?
plan to
im trying to decide my format still
im thinking of just doing think pieces and research style vids
I think social media might increase your intensity of holding your current position
so it kinda makes you more extreme
