for married couples in the game

2018-09-25 13:48:17 UTC

strangely enough

2018-09-25 13:48:34 UTC

so that decreases the chances of female generals even more

2018-09-25 13:49:09 UTC

does it? or does that actually increase it relative to random spawn pools?

2018-09-25 13:49:29 UTC

the random spawn pool is different to the birth rate

2018-09-25 13:49:34 UTC

or so i'm told

2018-09-25 13:49:54 UTC

well yes, but if the random spawn is only like 10% or something, but the birth rate is up at 35%

2018-09-25 13:50:11 UTC

does that not mean you have more like a 25% chance or something of getting female generals?

2018-09-25 13:50:31 UTC

with both combined yes

2018-09-25 13:50:59 UTC

but you mostly use generals from your own family to increase your own influence

2018-09-25 13:51:09 UTC

at least you should

2018-09-25 13:51:48 UTC

in which case, you tend to try and marry of family members quicly

2018-09-25 13:52:08 UTC

which does increase the female rate in a way

2018-09-25 13:52:19 UTC

if you have male family members

2018-09-25 13:52:34 UTC

hold on, if you have 65% males, and you marry them off, suddenly you now have at least 50/50 possible generals no? "all wives of male characters in factions which have female generals can then be generals"

2018-09-25 13:52:41 UTC

of that 65%

2018-09-25 13:52:47 UTC

though, the marriage functions is independent to the spawn rate

2018-09-25 13:53:08 UTC

well, females start off as stateswomen

2018-09-25 13:53:11 UTC

politicians

2018-09-25 13:53:21 UTC

you have to willingly recruit them

2018-09-25 13:53:59 UTC

well the problem is not that they are generals, is that they can be generals, is it not?

2018-09-25 13:54:02 UTC

wait 65% is the birth rate of males of married characters

2018-09-25 13:54:17 UTC

*male children

2018-09-25 13:54:31 UTC

do your children never grow up to be married off?

2018-09-25 13:54:36 UTC

ye

2018-09-25 13:54:45 UTC

nah just me being anal about the phrasing

2018-09-25 13:55:27 UTC

true the option of females being generals is part of the issue

2018-09-25 13:57:14 UTC

okay, so here is what i am getting at: if a faction allows female generals, then all wives *can* generals, meaning they show up as a recuitable option. Then if you have 7 male children, and 3 female, and marry them off, then you have at least 7 females and 7 males in your pool to pick from, or 10 and 10 if husbands of female children, and the female children themselves can be generals.

2018-09-25 13:58:01 UTC

ye

2018-09-25 13:58:01 UTC

is there a mechanic i am missing going from children to married to pool you can pick a general from?

2018-09-25 13:58:46 UTC

characters cannot become statemen until they are 16

2018-09-25 13:59:13 UTC

well, i'm assuming if you wait until they can be generals and they live that long.

2018-09-25 13:59:22 UTC

and statemen is when you can do political actions or become a general

2018-09-25 13:59:30 UTC

okay

2018-09-25 13:59:52 UTC

ye you're more or less good on that previous point

2018-09-25 14:00:39 UTC

i assume your pool for picking generals is a mix of random and children of the controlling faction correct?

2018-09-25 14:00:56 UTC

nope

2018-09-25 14:01:06 UTC

oh wait nvm

2018-09-25 14:01:12 UTC

i think i read that wrong

2018-09-25 14:01:18 UTC

the total pool, as in all your options for picking a general

2018-09-25 14:01:22 UTC
