But we maybe allowed is stuff like this, small social media groups, so long as they don't get big.

2018-10-01 10:36:24 UTC

Seize control of what happens on Reddit and you have an army.

2018-10-01 10:36:34 UTC

well there was a study done that shows humans do not view the recipients online as real humans when interacting

2018-10-01 10:36:46 UTC

Jes, yes ...

2018-10-01 10:36:51 UTC

@pratel isnt that 4chan lol

2018-10-01 10:37:01 UTC

autism army

2018-10-01 10:37:13 UTC

No, 4chan has memes and stuff, but it's not nearly as influential as Reddit.

2018-10-01 10:37:25 UTC

More importantly, most people don't take 4chan 100% seriously.

2018-10-01 10:37:31 UTC

People on reddit are serious.

2018-10-01 10:37:43 UTC

but 4chan has led to arrests of Antifa members Reddit has led to citizens being arrested for mean words

2018-10-01 10:37:44 UTC

And college students *act just like they do on Reddit in real life*

2018-10-01 10:37:58 UTC

4chan has real world implications.

2018-10-01 10:38:03 UTC

ahh yeah you are right @pratel they do here too

2018-10-01 10:38:07 UTC

But it doesn't have the same level of population control.

2018-10-01 10:38:31 UTC

Tumblr is just like Reddit for women, actually.

2018-10-01 10:38:35 UTC

4chan is anti population control, Reddit always struck me s conforming to the mainstream leftism

2018-10-01 10:38:51 UTC

I'd actually say Tumblr has a good deal of the left-women split.

2018-10-01 10:39:04 UTC

Reddit used to have some balance.

2018-10-01 10:39:12 UTC

But then it got conquered by ShareBlue.

2018-10-01 10:39:18 UTC

full disclosure I'm Gen X so Reddit isn't something I go on. But @Timcast got kicked off the Anarchy subreddit and that says it all

2018-10-01 10:39:24 UTC

I tried Reddit, I got the feeling they got a lot of rules and control a lot.

2018-10-01 10:39:34 UTC

And it's rapidly become increasingly leftist. Banning people and subs who don't toe the official line.

2018-10-01 10:39:44 UTC

Reddit used to be pretty open from what I can tell.

2018-10-01 10:39:59 UTC

But it's become increasingly controlled since 2014 or so.

2018-10-01 10:40:49 UTC

In terms of population control, imagine if the Stazi had access to all the data Google does.

2018-10-01 10:41:04 UTC

A sleepless informant in every pocket.

2018-10-01 10:41:18 UTC

Knowledge of what *everyone* is looking at.

2018-10-01 10:41:25 UTC

@pratel sounds a bit what we have today.

2018-10-01 10:42:26 UTC

It is. The only reason it hasn't become terrifying is that Google has traditionally been pretty libertarian and avoided fully exploiting their information.

But that has changed. Google looks unrecognizable to me now.

2018-10-01 10:43:39 UTC

I'm of the belief we *must* do something about the social media giants and we needed to do something a long time ago.

2018-10-01 10:43:41 UTC

@pratel agree +!

2018-10-01 10:43:41 UTC

If you look at my post, I rarely use offensive language and always try to be fair in my comments. I am on my third userid with TYT with their shadow banning.

2018-10-01 10:43:44 UTC

+1

2018-10-01 10:44:23 UTC

@TraderPropShop but they ban you anyway. Because it's about controlling the narrative.

2018-10-01 10:44:33 UTC

Political influence and control is a form of power.

2018-10-01 10:44:45 UTC

but its deeper than that

2018-10-01 10:44:54 UTC

look at the changes to language

2018-10-01 10:45:14 UTC

the moment you start using the extremist language you have conceeded half the battle

2018-10-01 10:45:15 UTC

I tried to be very non-emotive and very careful what I said, I got banned anyway.

2018-10-01 10:45:28 UTC

Yep. Join the club.

2018-10-01 10:45:36 UTC

And it's on all the major platforms too.
