I asked them questions about their faith
Gospel of John is a good account of Jesus' life and ministry. And of course Jesus is the center of Christianity obviously
And watched some like 8 min ytb videos
Summary of bible part by part
Romans is a good account of what the Church is
Proverbs is an old book by an ancient Israeli King, it's exactly what it sounds like. Proverbs and practical advice
1st Maccabees is like the Jewish version of the movie 300
@Deleted User What about the bible project series
Is it good?
Short videos on ytb
Yeah, it's kinda meant for kids but that makes it easy to understand
Yeah
I liked that
@Deleted User The fact it was simple and clear and easy to understand was great
Any particular denomination that draws you in or are you just exploring?
I grew up Protestant (Baptist) and converted to Roman Catholic in my adult life so I'm familiar with both
@Deleted User Any group in particular that would accept a very light ans casual believer? Or I'd just be atheist hack to you all?
I don't know how Protestants are in Europe but over here they're pretty strict. Some even believe alcohol is a sin
Catholics tend to be laid back, sometimes too much, so in some places we tend to get liberals and idiots
As Victus said, God doesn’t want a casual believer.
I will of course say that I believe the one "true" church is Catholic. But it doesn't mean if you're Protestant that you're a turd
I'd rather see an atheist become a Lutheran or something than not at all
Also. If you find a large enough church, and don’t try to contribute I don’t think it matters what church you pick to sit in on.
Yeah, it might be good to attend services at several different ones just to get a feel for it
Just go in and sit towards the back or in clusters of other people. Sort of hide in plain sight.
Where I'm from if you go into a large Catholic church people probably won't even notice you.
I'm Baptist so...
Then you know it's the truth, you go into a Baptist church and everyone is gonna notice you and welcome you. You go into a Catholic Church and everyone is kneeling and praying and probably wouldn't notice a bombing raid
I agree
I am primarily Southern Baptist and it is pretty much a sin for there to be no one to greet you at the door and socialize with you
Southern hospitality
Indeed
We kind of focus heavily on social events and reaching out to people on a personal level to get them to come to Christ. As well as the normal ways of spreading the faith
Our friend here is Czech so there may not be Baptists around, but there's probably Lutheran
I've never understood Lutherans
Because most of us super Protestants, aka Baptist, Methodist, Church of God, Presbyterian, and Church of the Nazarene don't consider them proper Protestants
They're technically the first Protestants. But that puts them a lot closer to Catholic than other Protestant churches
This is the difference between American Protestantism and European Protestantism
Yeah
Then again American Catholicism and European Catholicism (Roman Catholic) are different too
