Nothing Trump has done has shown indication of caring about the debt for example but suddenly he is a deficit hawk when it comes to trans in the military

He recently ordered all federal departments to cut 5% by 2020. Small step, but it's a start.

Their have been trans people fighting in wars for thousands of years,why suddenly the virtue signaling and hand ringing in 2017

I don't think trans could have been a thing for thousands of years as the medical procedures are recent.

yeah post op surgery is like 60 years old,but their were trans soldiers in the rome army and a minority of people have lived as trans all throughout humanity

no,but i am sure many would if that was an option. As long as people don't force it on someone when they are young people should let them live how they want

I think a lot of the hormone stuff is too new to accurately gauge the long term effects on the body.

I wouldn't care if trans people were in logistical units but I wouldn't trust them in combative roles.

cis hetero people also have elective procedures as well that's long term effects are not fully known. dont think any of that stuff should be banned either,live and let live

But generally when people have mental health issues it's not good for them to be in combat.

Lots of people soldiers or not have mental health issues and still handle doing their day to day work effectively. People with 1 mental health issue or another compose a great swath of society

what do you call the era we are living in now? An era of endless overseas mission which runs concurrent with public health crisis in obesity that lowers the pool of those eligable for combat. An era where you only take the best of the best or one you make exceptions for people.

I'd say if we are able to waste lives overseas for pointless wars then we aren't desperate.

yes .......... its a vital economic issue to potentially get rid of the cost of a procedure that will be had like not even 1/10th of 1 percent of the military. It wouldn't even effect 1 percent of the militarys medical budget
